Pure Evil. There should be a no-April-Fools policy on TLS. Someone might die of a heart attack, anonymously over the internet.

And you updated your LSN profile to show the rejection--commitment.

Not sure. Hopefully, they won't keep us waiting too long.

You and I are acceptances twins, though. Harvard and Stanford, but not Yale. :-(

ditto, which way are you guys leaning and why?

I'll almost certainly be at Stanford. Love the small class size, and the placement power and the safety net that provides. I think Stanford weathered the downturn better than any other school, and should things go south again I'd feel marginally better at Stanford than Harvard. Going back to the market that I want on the east coast, Stanford normally sends 2-5 whereas Harvard normally has more than 100 bid. With firms wanting diversity in their associate classes, this gives Stanford a pretty sizable leg up in my market vs. Harvard.

Anyways, those are the big things, but for me every small factor points towards Stanford as well. Love the campus and the weather. Love the Bay Area and think it's a great place to spend three years. I like how Munger gives the 1Ls a place to build community and yet at the same time still have really nice accommodations (whereas I think you have to give up one of the two at HLS). I love Stanford football. Love the more relaxed vibe at the school I've sensed from students, etc., etc.

I'm actually leaning the opposite way. :-) Stanford's a great place, but I'm an East Coast girl through and through. Plus, I have a boyfriend working at a good job in the D.C. / Northern Virginia area. We're pretty committed, and I couldn't imagine being on the opposite coast from him. For personal and professional reasons, I'm interested in the D.C. market, so I have it tough from any location, even when you get to the top three.

Moreover, I like HLS's clinical offerings. I'm neutral to class size because I went to a small high school but a huge undergrad. I like the fact that HLS has career advising for alumni, whether they choose to stay in the private or public sector.

The weather is great at Stanford, but I'm from a state that has weather worse in comparison to Boston / New England weather, so I should be fine. I don't mind HLS's dorms. I've lived in dorms for all four years of undergrad, and our dorms are smaller and worse than the Gropius dorms I saw during ASW. Plus, I loved HLS when I visited. I've visited other schools (not in the same tier as Harvard and Stanford), so I could differentiate between being apathetic about a school (the non-top three school I visited) and being excited about a school.

Also, at the end of the day, I didn't want to spend $500 and six hours flying home (from West to East Coast) if I went to Stanford. Also, West Coast cost-of-living scares me, given the fact that I'll be financing cost of living for all three years by myself / through loans (and year two and year three tuition through loans). I think I'm really splitting hairs at this point, but those are my thoughts so far.

Rejected as well.

I wonder if I at least made it past the Asha gate and got to be reviewed/rated
or my application is that crappy that they rejected it straight away..

It's actually just before midnight here, so I thought the email notification was my classmate sending back my paper she was proofreading for our midnight submission deadline. Nope, "Yale Law School - decision."

Your application for admission to Yale Law School has been fully reviewed. We regret that we are unable to offer you admission for the fall of 2013.

Maybe they just didn't want anyone to think it was an April fools joke? :-P

I enjoyed the subtle mentioning of how many qualified applicants will get rejected but in no way should you assume you are part of this group
