Just officially submitted. Yale's my number one, but even if I don't get in I'll have been very happy with my cycle! So it's a bit of a win-win, but a Yale acceptance would really be a dream come true. Fingers crossed.

Wow, thanks, everyone! I'm still definitely in mild shock.
I wouldn't give up hope if you had an earlier complete date than me--I have a feeling I really lucked out and got professors who were speedy reviewers or something. Hope to see all of you at ASW!! I am fairly acquainted with the New Haven bar scene, if that is any added incentive

I got a 203 call last weekend informing me that I won a free boat cruise to Barbados.Wormfather wrote:If anyone is interested, I live in the 203 area code and I'd be more than happy to call you guys so you can get that cheap high.

Really, there's no reason to get nervous based on complete dates with YLS. You might be in trouble or you might be gathering dust on the desk of a reviewer with a tendency to procrastinate. There's no real reason to lose hope until you're told otherwise.sabanist wrote: Also, LOL at waiting since January being unnerving.
I'm not going to pretend I'm not pretty discouraged by the silence on my end, but hey, they haven't rejected me yet.

Completely true. Just being neurotic, self-loathing, irrational, and pessimistic in order to lower expectations.sabanist wrote:Really, there's no reason to get nervous based on complete dates with YLS. I only discourage it because that's my MO and I know how depressing it can be. haha.vman21 wrote: Completely true. Just being neurotic, self-loathing, irrational, and pessimistic in order to lower expectations.

i understand this is the TCR regarding yls admissions methodology but if you look at the data, accept dates historically are rather predictable by complete dates so im not sure how to reconcile the two.sabanist wrote:vman21 wrote:not looking so hot for the rest of us late-january completesReally, there's no reason to get nervous based on complete dates with YLS. It's probably like the LSAT: .45 correlation.az21833 wrote:i understand this is the TCR regarding yls admissions methodology but if you look at the data, accept dates historically are rather predictable by complete dates so im not sure how to reconcile the two.sabanist wrote:vman21 wrote:not looking so hot for the rest of us late-january completesReally, there's no reason to get nervous based on complete dates with YLS. True, but I'm trying to spread the sunshine and rainbows around a little. It's as much for my own sanity as it is for anyone else's.mrizza wrote: Sab that's the TLS mantra, how dare you discourage it!
