dont transfer. chances are most of you have HYSCCN in the bag if you made it this far wtih Y. not worth it at all. pretty much no chance at LR and 2nd class citizen at OCI.

Really hurt Lessig to transfer into YLS...ManOfTheMinute wrote:Not sure I agree with this...az21833 wrote:dont transfer. chances are most of you have HYSCCN in the bag if you made it this far wtih Y. not worth it at all. pretty much no chance at LR and 2nd class citizen at OCI.

word. posner/scalia clerkships were clearly the result of him being a second-class citizen at yls....callmemaybe84 wrote:Really hurt Lessig to transfer into YLS...ManOfTheMinute wrote:Not sure I agree with this...az21833 wrote:dont transfer. chances are most of you have HYSCCN in the bag if you made it this far wtih Y. not worth it at all. pretty much no chance at LR and 2nd class citizen at OCI.

I know I don't, but everyone ITT who was waitlisted has good options. In order to actually be able to get into Yale your grades still have to be pretty darn high. If you are top 1/3 at HSCCN etc why leave?ManOfTheMinute wrote:Not sure I agree with this...az21833 wrote:dont transfer. chances are most of you have HYSCCN in the bag if you made it this far wtih Y. not worth it at all. pretty much no chance at LR and 2nd class citizen at OCI.

ok that was hyperbole. but i would only transfer if i was lower t14, if you're in a position to get in as a transfer at yale and your at HYSCCN, you're likely on your way to glory already (top 10%). and there's a chance that you wouldn't do as well at yale.

If you've got a specific reason to be at Yale. For me, it's a certain professor I would sell a kidney to work with...wert3813 wrote:I know I don't, but everyone ITT who was waitlisted has good options. If by "do[ing] as well" you mean "...as well academically," I doubt what you're saying.az21833 wrote:ok that was hyperbole. but i would only transfer if i was lower t14, if you're in a position to get in as a transfer at yale and your at HYSCCN, you're likely on your way to glory already (top 10%). and there's a chance that you wouldn't do as well at yale.
At Yale, it's all Hs and Ps (assuming no Fs); there are no GPAs (unlike Harvard); and there's no curve. Graduating from Yale with Hs and Ps, I think, is far preferable, ceteris paribus, to graduating from anywhere but HLS or SLS.

What time do you think the rest of decisions will come out?

My roommates have taken advantage of my stress and roped me into driving to the "fancy" liquor store, so at least I will have provisions.Alassio wrote:if yesterday is any indication, it's going to be a looooong nightHopefulBulldog wrote:What time do you think the rest of decisions will come out?

Don't worry sabanist, I doubt they'll have decisions by then. My bet's on a midnight-ish release. (I picture them huddled in a room nursing espresso drinks while hashing our fate).sabanist wrote:As someone who will be in class (in a cell phone reception-less dungeon no less) until 9 PM tonight, edgeofthenight wrote: My roommates have taken advantage of my stress and roped me into driving to the "fancy" liquor store, so at least I will have provisions.
