Last year, there were 237 new offers extended, and a net admit# of 245 (#new offers-#that year's admitted students who elected to defer+previous year's deferrals who decided to enroll). The Facebook group for 2016 would logically have around (245 + # people admitted this cycle who decide to defer) members. We also need to factor in what's reported to be at least 5 current students and admins currently in the group.Even assuming some students do not have Facebook, it seems as if the 2016 group should get up to around 252--the size of the 2015 group--once the entire class has been admitted. Which means there should be about 39 offers remaining -- or, further broken down, perhaps about 29 regular offers and 10 waitlist offers.

No, but they just tweeted "What's a vegetarian/vegan to do in New Haven? t.co/dKuml5TE5C"...

I think we all got the 4/15 figure from AZ who says the admissions office emailed him that they strived to have all decisions communicated by today.

I hope that's true for the sake of everyone still waiting. Someone I spoke to on the phone earlier today at the admissions office said that all the admit decisions had already been sent out, but it was just a passing comment as part of an unrelated conversation. I'm not sure how much he actually knew about the situation, and I didn't ask for more detail.

If the FB numbers are a valid indicator, it definitely looks like there are more admits to come. But there are probably a handful of people that didn't join the FB group. I know one person that was admitted that didn't join because he doesn't have a FB account.

Doesn't seem to make sense that they wouldn't communicate admit decisions when they reach them--given that there's probably a form letter prepared. I'm sure dings are just sent automatically by a program.

They are definitely not sent as soon as they are made, unless Yale happens to make decisions on TLSers in approximately month-long increments at precisely the same moment.

Was there any other justification other than AZ's message to think that today would be the day? I guess ASW is fast approaching and deposits are due soon, but any other reason why today should be the day?

Honeybadger confirmed that a few weeks ago they told him that they were trying to have decisions by 4/15

So we're just looking for a massive ding/WL wave as they head out of the admissions office for the day? It's after 6 already, they should just get on with it.

You all seriously need to go have a drink, then go to bed. Or read a book or watch Game of Thrones or something. Good lord.
