I'm going down on Thursday to visit again and make a final decision, but assuming I don't get into WUSTL (which I probably won't) I'm definitely attending.rshw89 wrote:Is anybody else firm in their decision to attend Tulane? I just submitted my deposit today.

Did they forward it to the Office of Admissions or did you have to resend the email to them? I just sent a potential scholarship increase email to I believe the financial aid office, have not heard back yet.JayJones78 wrote:Nice. I am still waiting them to let me know a potential upping from sticker to something. How much did they initially offer you?BBB wrote:I sent in an email asking for an increased scholarship and it worked. I accidentally sent it to the Financial Aid Office when it's really the Office of Admissions that handles it. The Assistant Dean of Admissions got back to me and asked how much I was looking for. I drew up a lot of tables showing their Cost of Attendance and then explained how long and how much a month I wanted to pay after graduation. I'm planning on doing Public Service so I'm trying to keep this number as low as possible especially considering their median Public Service salary for post-grads. I asked for an additional $10,000/year, planning on them responding with a lesser offer but they emailed me about 3 days later giving me the whole amount I asked for. I'm definitely going to attend now that the tuition is so low.
For reference I had a 3.0/165

I am and have submitted deposit already. I'm moving to New Orleans May 1 - maybe those of us on the FB group that are in town this summer can meet up before school starts.rshw89 wrote:Is anybody else firm in their decision to attend Tulane? I just submitted my deposit today.

That sounds great. You'll make it in town just in time for the last weekend of Jazz Fest. You should check it out. A lot of people from here are bigger fans of Jazz Fest than Mardi Gras, and a lot of venues around the city will have really good shows during Jazz Fest as well.yednock wrote:I am and have submitted deposit already. I am about 80% decided on Tulane, however I have had 2 schools up their scholarship offer to me in the past week so I am kind of holding out to see what else gets offered. If I do choose Tulane though I will be moving down in July or August to get acclimated to the city and I suppose the humidity!

How bad is the humidity in NOLA? I'm from Australia so I'm accustomed to the heat but I'm worried about the extra stickiness that people talk about. This may sound silly but I'm considering Tulane> Emory. It seems like a fun place to live and learn for the next few years, and beyond.

Don't get me wrong. It is humid in New Orleans, but it isn't unbearable by any means. I prefer the humid heat to dry heat. I can tell you that it is almost just as humid in Atlanta during the summers, and New Orleans is a much better city.billiris321 wrote:How bad is the humidity in NOLA? I'm by no means an expert on either city; but having been to both multiple times, I'd pick NOLA over Atlanta every day of the week.billiris321 wrote:How bad is the humidity in NOLA? I thought that 2nd Complete meant a quick decision, but it ended up being about 2 weeks later that I finally heard I was waitlisted.

That view seems to be shared by the vast majority of people I've spoken to. Must be a fabulous place.

Same here, and second status complete date on 3/25. First was 2/13. Getting kind of anxious! It's definitely my first choice.

I think my decision came pretty quickly after my second "status complete" update. I remember being really caught off guard by my acceptance because Tulane was the first school where I got decision without my status changing to "under review."NoMistakes wrote:Same here, and second status complete date on 3/25.
