Just like some schools prefer GPA (Minnesota), and some really like LSAT (GW), other schools like hints of religious affiliation and commitment. It is just a wild guess but a lack of such features might explain these WL, and could also explain surprising acceptances. Did any of you WL applicants come accross as particularly unreligious?
Not all all. The Jesuits value scholarship, service and loyalty. If your essay covered some or all of those points, you are a good fit. OTOH, if you have zero community service, BC (and other Catholic schools) will be reluctant to jump at your numbers.
well I have pretty good numbers for BC and have been teaching/volunteering for public schools for 4-5 years... not sure what that says about my app.
