I know for a fact of people who got money off of the waitlist last year. Don't lose hope!

Really sorry to hear that man. We are pretty much identical applicants...so I hope you have some waitlist luck later on.

Hang in there, waitlist crowd. Sorry to hear about it, but you never know what will happen with this cycle later on...

Maybe BC has religious considerations that effect it's admissions process. It is Jesuit after all. Just like some schools prefer GPA (Minnesota), and some really like LSAT (GW), other schools like hints of religious affiliation and commitment. It is just a wild guess but a lack of such features might explain these WL, and could also explain surprising acceptances. Did any of you WL applicants come accross as particularly unreligious?

I mentioned that I was an Atheist in my diversity statement. Wasn't a problem. It would really really surprise me if they discriminated that way.

If that were the case I would have been denied in a heartbeat. I'm a walking sin.

If i recall correctly, they don't ask religion in the app do they? If this were the case, i guess i have to get that loci in right away and pontificate my catholic roots.

BC 1L here. Unlike the undergrad, the religious character of the institution is much less pronounced at the law school. You can go to mass, take classes in law & Catholic social thought, etc. or completely ignore that, it doesn't matter. I'm Buddhist and have never felt unwelcome or ostracized because of it. Also, VERY LGBT friendly. I would go into cardiac arrest if a student here said something homophobic.

Also, the nondiscrimination statement includes religion, so they definitely cannot ding you just for that!

Thanks man, I went and wrote BC a letter the same time I wrote BU a letter. Hopefully that'll affirm my interest.

I got you beat. My acceptance doesn't make much sense unless we consider that BC is truly holistic

I think that BC has it out for me; been waitlisted twice now, for UG and now for law school, yet have gotten into better schools in both circumstances. some bullcrap

BC is GPA heavy. U should get good dough from the splitter-friendly Midwestern T30s.

I wrote about being a queer atheist for my diversity addenda and got accepted so there goes that theory.

Hopefully this indicates they are saving all their pennies for scholarships.

Not all all. The Jesuits value scholarship, service and loyalty. If your essay covered some or all of those points, you are a good fit. OTOH, if you have zero community service, BC (and other Catholic schools) will be reluctant to jump at your numbers.
