Yeah, same boat. My increase was only 3K/year, which won't make a difference for me. Hopefully they'll shift some of the $$$ they offered me your way!!

just received my scholarship offer from BU, but I'm not sure if it's merit or not? it's a BU Alumni scholarship. anyone know if there's a difference? and has anyone had success negotiating yet? thanks!

Just got that as well. Almost certainly the merit offer. BU is coming at me hard this week!

was this by email or mail? curious because i got no initial offer with my letter a few months ago.

I received a BU Alumni Scholarship a few weeks after filling out my FAFSA and additional forms. Think they are need based.

thanks for the clarification! since it's need-based, does that mean there's no room for negotiation? (maybe this is something I should be asking them about, but I figured I would try here first!)

Just FAFSA and Need Access for need based aid, didn't have to send anything in. They say priority will be given to applicants who fill out all paperwork by 3/1/13, so you should take care of everything as soon as possible.

Sometimes they do but not always. Many received them with the package but quite a few have gotten them a few weeks later

Received my scholarship offer with my admit package two weeks ago and today was emailed that it is being slightly bumped up as a result of the BU Alumni Scholarship.
