It's unbelievable. I've never seen anything like this in the city, and I've lived here my whole life.

Admitted students: did you receive your financial aid offer in the mail with your acceptance? If not, how soon after (and how) did you receive it?
I was admitted via phone call and received my admit packet yesterday, but no mention of financial aid. I also have not received any emails from them.

Just an FYI, I received no mention of financial aid with my admit packet and when I tried to negotiate with them they informed me that I had not filled out a certain part of FAFSA and that they would only consider me for any form of scholarship once all the paperwork was completed.

I've been waitlisted since late february. When does BU typically start admitting or denying those waitlisted? Any predication(s) if this years numbers will be more favorable to BU drawing from the waitlist?

First deposit is 5/1. I would venture to say a week after that there should be good wait list activity, because you actually have to mail in the deposit (unlike other schools where you can pay online). Should be easier to get off all wait lists this year because applications are down, so the law schools will have a tougher time predicting who will go where because schools are throwing the same amount of money at fewer people.Torque wrote:I've been waitlisted since late february. Yep, I sent my 1st LOCI in immediately afterwards, and am planning to get a 2nd one in early May. After reading around it seems like historically a fair number of those waitlisted hear from BU late May.km0828 wrote:I have also been on the WL since February. this process is excruciating... Yeah i updated my file last week and they just replied by saying they "added it to my file and thanks for your patience."Torque wrote:Yep, I sent my 1st LOCI in immediately afterwards, and am planning to get a 2nd one in early May. I would call the office and tell them you would like a decision because of other deadlines. I would also mention something about you liking BU or anything positive about the school. I was admitted the day after I called them.question7 wrote:anybody else still waiting on a decision? Applied early January.

Re: BU 2012-2013 Applicants
If you have any other merit based offers email them to admissions. They will forward them to the scholarship committee. Then you should hear back before the deposit deadline.thatgumyoulike wrote:Admitted students: did you receive your financial aid offer in the mail with your acceptance? Did everyone send their competing offers to admissions? Or financial aid?

I never deposited, but I just received a significant scholarship increase from BU and now I'm confused all over again.

What?!!! Those bastards refused to increase my scholarship. I want back my deposit. Congratulations. Where were you planning on going before the increase?dproduct wrote:I never deposited, but I just received a significant scholarship increase from BU and now I'm confused all over again.
