Admitted via email today! Very excited!!! I applied in late January. Feel free to PM for #'s. So my question to this thread is (and I'm sure it's been asked and answered, but that's a lotta pages to pore through) how/when can I expect to be informed of scholarship money?

6 rejections have got me seriously contemplating pushing to get myself of their waitlist. wondering if it's a bit premature seeing as I've got 10 more schools to wait on.

Anyone have anything to say to the fact that other PT students are getting off the wait-list yet I have not heard anything either way? Should I call the admissions office? It seems like there is a lot of news going out today...

Re: Fordham c/o 2016/17 (2012-2013 Cycle)
And tell them what? You heard a lot of PT people (namely two we know of here) have heard and you didn't? That's the nature of LS admissions cycle. They do whatever they want based on how it suits them at that precise moment. It is what it isbaddabing27 wrote:Anyone have anything to say to the fact that other PT students are getting off the wait-list yet I have not heard anything either way? I would just call to make sure there are no mistakes or anything. I'm really just getting anxious. It seems weird that some would be a WL-Admit without others hearing at all...

Trust me. There are no mistakes. Iv been waiting to hear from schools from late dec with no word while people that applied first week of march got accepted. That's the nature of the game. Calling them wouldn't serve anythingbaddabing27 wrote:I would just call to make sure there are no mistakes or anything. I'm really just getting anxious. Tried negotiating with them - they rejected my appeal for more money, which is crazy given that I am above both their medians (and I think their 75th% lsat). They originally gave me 45k and are sticking with that, even though they gave more to people with lower numbers than mine. Makes no sense.

You're a flight risk...it makes no sense to enter into a bidding war with you when they can offer less money to an applicant with similar numbers and less competing offersT20hopeful89 wrote:Tried negotiating with them - they rejected my appeal for more money, which is crazy given that I am above both their medians (and I think their 75th% lsat). Agreed. Prob afraid you'll have a good WL and say bye as you transfer to CLS or NYUcusenation wrote:You're a flight risk...it makes no sense to enter into a bidding war with you when they can offer less money to an applicant with similar numbers and less competing offersT20hopeful89 wrote:Tried negotiating with them - they rejected my appeal for more money, which is crazy given that I am above both their medians (and I think their 75th% lsat). LOL def not getting in off the waitlist to CLS and I'm expecting a rejection from NYU in april...so annoying because had they bumped up my financial aid, I probably would have deposited there immediately. I am not a shoe-in off the waitlist anywhere (have a shot at gtown and cornell, but not even sure about them, nor even sure I would want to attend either of those schools). Pretty frustrating.

Sorry I meant to say that you'll have a successful 1L year and transfer to CLS or NYU so they have no incentive to give you more moneyT20hopeful89 wrote:JayJones78 wrote:Agreed. Who knows. I just think that someone with my numbers is their ideal candidate, if they want to climb back up the rankings, so they should cough up the money. Though honestly, I am not even sure they have so much money....

NYC schools in general have high overhead costs that somewhat limit their generosity..but yeah you're right that you're their ideal candidate if they wanna move back in the rankings. But that only works IF ENOUGH similarly-qualified candidates enroll. It does no good to take a 168 if everyone else in the class is a 162-165 or something. It's unlikely that 167's-168's will enroll en masse to Fordham this cycle, especially because of the rankings drop...so the school neglects those candidates when it comes to scholly..so it's like Law School Prisoner's Dilemma..everyone tries to minimize their own risk..which just hurts all parties even moreT20hopeful89 wrote:JayJones78 wrote:

Yeah, just a bit frustrating. my gpa isn't high enough to break me into the t14 with my lsat score, so really, fordham is the only choice for me in nyc. I kind of want to walk the 10 blocks to their office and tell them that hahacusenation wrote:NYC schools in general have high overhead costs that somewhat limit their generosity..but yeah you're right that you're their ideal candidate if they wanna move back in the rankings. T20, keep in mind, it's early in the season. They're not entirely sure how the complete class looks yet and may be hoarding money for the time being. They may be desperate to keep you in May or June (or whenever the 2nd deposit deadline is) and willing to renegotiate then. If you have the opportunity to deposit at Fordham, and if the need should arise, at another school, then I would do so.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
