You have solid numbers. Even if you don't get admitted as an ED candidate, I highly doubt that NU would just ding a candidate with your numbers. You're right that it's unlikely that you'll get ED (but who knows right?). But even if you don't, you have a great chance at being admitted after a deferral. And maybe you'll get some scholarship through that even if it's not 150K.

Either way, I don't expect you to get outright dinged. In the event of a deferral, your ED application will let them know that you're passionate about attending, which can only be a boost. This would help even if you got waitlisted. Soo no need to stress too much =)

Thank you An auto-ding would make me feel sad. I'm sorta expecting a deferral/hold followed by (please?) an acceptance. If I get money... fricking sweet. If I don't, I'd still strongly consider going there. I just want to KNOW what's going to happen so I can figure out my life!!! And I think I want to hug every single RD candidate who's stuck waiting on us ED candidates until God-knows-when.

Such is life.

10 seems unreasonably small. There were 7 listed as getting the full scholarship last year on LSN, and while LSN does get a lot of top their candidates, even close to 70% of all ED acceptances seems a little unbelievable. I could believe 15 or so.

The lowest accepted GPA does seem to be a 3.5, but many are in the 3.6 range, so a 3.7 *average* may be believable, but still a little high.

What I think is more heartening are the WL, Accepted kids from that list, even if some had to wait until April/May. I expect to be deferred to the regular decision pool as well, but I hope to find out earlier than later.

I applied ED as well...I meet 2 of those 3. But my 169 is making me believe deferral to RD is what will likely happen...just hoping no outright rejection.

I applied ED as well...I meet 2 of those 3. But my 169 is making me believe deferral to RD is what will likely happen...just hoping no outright rejection.

In the same boat with my 169...hoping the 2 and a half years of work experience and GPA above their 75th helps me get in ED. I live in Chicago and would LOVE NU.

That was before the ED=150k program was started, and probably not relevant. I think the ED scholarship has only been in place for two years.

Yep. I spoke to someone class of 2014 (maybe '13) and she was pissed she didn't wait another year to apply. It's mostly the last year or two that you need to look at. Before that they were more random and more accepting of ED app's

Class of 2014 was the first class it was available. She must've been 2013.

It was. Last year was the first time they introduced the scholarship into the ED program.

I sent mine in Mid Nov and just heard back last monday. Had the interview last friday. Submitting the app tonight.

I've mentioned this before, but it would be great if they had interviewers contact the interviewees instead of having us try to contact someone who may or may not respond to us. (This is how Vandy, Georgetown, Chicago, and Harvard all do it, and it works much more smoothly.)
