What is the significance, if any, of participating in an on-campus interview for hold applicants?

Any other admitted students have current students email them? I feel mine has been disingenuous to say the least. Part of the reasons she recommended NU was because of the smaller class sizes compared to UG, "there would be 500 people in class at my UG and only 12 at Northwestern."
She also emphasized that NU has OCI's like it was a special thing. I don't know, it just felt weird that she was mentioning things true for literally every school as reasons I should choose NU.

P.S. We're not pressured or required (or rewarded in any way) to write those emails, btw. It's volunteer, and I would expect whatever the writer says to be reasonably sincere. That's not to say that it's necessarily at all useful to you in making a decision, but calling her disingenuous is kind of rude.

I didn't mean to be rude, and I suppose she could have said everything very sincerely, but perhaps it's more of a naivete or simply not knowing what else to say. Certainly, everything she likes about NU could very well be 100% sincere, I just found it weird and a bit off-putting that they happened to be the exact same things I expect to find from every single school I applied to.
I still think it's weird comparing a law school class to a UG mega-class and thinking that's a bonus somehow of NU (she didn't compare it to GULC or any other law school), but whatever, I'll take all the information I can.

As someone who sent a chunk of those- definitely ask your questions! Most of us love to talk northwestern. Also, feel free to ask in the "3Ls answering questions" thread- which is actually populated by a big mix of 1-3Ls with a range of experiences.

Edit: having read upthread, a few more thoughts. I definitely second what rink said- we're not forced or rewarded for writing those, so take it as sincere! It's sometimes hard to explain generally why we love it here, but you'll likely get more specific answers if you write back. Otherwise, of course, your friendly TLS crew are around to help! I'm always happy to talk to 0Ls, mostly because I have a huge and unwavering love for this place.
