Although it's not a T14, UCLA does offer an awesome locale, am I right? Hard to beat that perfect weather.

As someone who decided to do undergrad on the East Coast, I would so love for that to be the definition of winter again. That being said, it was 71 and sunny today in Maryland...but it was also the warmest December 3rd on record, so take that with a grain of salt.digifly wrote:I live in Orange County, about an hour away from UCLA, and I'd like you to know that winter has officially begun here...it drizzled today for about thirty minutes.matthewsean85 wrote:That's kind of how I'm seeing it too. with California being oversaturated with lawyers and in financial ruin, UCLA's employment stats are WELL below every T14. plus sky-high COA+tuition.. imho you'd be crazy to take ucla over any t14 without a near full-ride.

ITE blows man. UCLA was placing half its class in biglaw before the crash. Would gladly have taken UCLA with a scholly in those days.SaintsTheMetal wrote:employment >>> locale.matthewsean85 wrote:That's kind of how I'm seeing it too. Already this cycle has been insane. But would I have been so motivated to study for the LSAT without all the negative press?
USC is doing a bit better, so hopefully UCLA Will start cutting its class size and they see better numbers.

I believe they did cut their class size a little this year. Although additional cuts probably are needed

Lawschoolnumbers.com has the answer to this question, and more!
Btw my numbers on there are slightly fudged, but close. I'll update when my cycle is over.

To people who have gotten money, how did the offer come? I got in last week and haven't heard. I do have genuine interest in attending UCLA if I get a good financial aid package, and I'm not sure when I'll hear. Thanks!

The Dean mentioned it to me on the phone (and my jaw dropped haha). I have yet to receive anything in the mail. Good luck! With your numbers I'm sure something is coming.zdamico wrote:To people who have gotten money, how did the offer come? I got in last week and haven't heard. Ditto. I was only cautiously optimistic about getting accepted. The scholly made my day.digifly wrote:The Dean mentioned it to me on the phone (and my jaw dropped haha). I'm in the exact same position - I'm wondering if it would be too soon to express that sentiment to the admissions committee to see if it would expedite a decision on merit aid...zdamico wrote:To people who have gotten money, how did the offer come? Checking in... Complete since 10/16. The fact that they don't have a status checker is driving me crazy.

With no status checkers my life would be far simpler.

Unfortunately I don't have the dates, but I was admitted!
3.92/171; they're offering 120K.....
I'm wondering, would it be possible for me to try and raise that scholly? I got similar offers in better schools (not the same amount, but similar % of tuition, and I think UVA has cheaper COL than LA....)
Congrats to those who're in, good luck to people waiting!

Just went complete, submitted 2-4 days ago. Hoping for a quick turnaround- I'd love to get a first acceptance before Xmas!
Also I forwarded the "complete" email to my mom and she told me
I should write back telling them thanks for considering me and that I visited last year and loved it. Horrible idea. Right?
