Ah, gotcha. I think Columbia is gorgeous but the law school made me feel sad, lol. It's a matter of preference. The school itself sounds amazing though.

SLS has made final decisions, which means that their "soft" holds have already been taken off the shelf. In other words, prepare to see that "file submitted for review" change in the next few days.

Don't think they'll stop admitting students just yet - as the deadlines to Yale/Harvard approach, some space will open up with SLS and they will adjust accordingly.

you're right, the law school building itself is bleak. but I feel like the rest of the campus makes up for it. and outside of class I don't see myself spending a lot of time there anyway.

edit: to keep this thread relevant, STANFORD SPARE US FROM MILDLY UNATTRACTIVE ARCHITECTURE AND ADMIT US TO YOUR UNDYINGLY BEAUTIFUL MISSION CAMPUS

Dean Deal said something similar to me, but I interpreted as "We made our final decision on YOU last night".

Maybe I heard incorrectly, then? Always a possibility.

I was too busy trying not to audibly cry, tbh, so I could've heard/interpreted wrong as well. Only time will tell.

The nuances of the Stanford application process has made it so memorable.

Years from now, as a decrepit grandpa I will sit by the fire in my equally decrepit rocking chair and tell the story to the shining faces of my grandchildren, so that they too can one day pass down the legend to their grandchildren. "The nuances!" I will grumble, "the nuances..." And then all will fall silent and the darkness will overtake me. RIP HELIX

Called them and they explained it to me (more or less). Could be just something they say, but I'm inclined to believe they're telling the truth. Invariably some students will not make it to ASW, but very, very few.

Well, it seems we've survived too long.

Here's to hoping for a WL

ETA: I'm still hopeful until tomorrow at 5PST for more acceptances

All along, my email field has been: primary: XYZ@X.COM secondary: (blank)

Yesterday I noticed that it was primary: XYZ@X.COM secondary: XYZ@X.COM

Today it is primary: XYZ@X.COM secondary: (blank) again.

I'm going to assume this means a WL or ding is coming for me tomorrow.

Both my emails have been lower case since november 9th and never changed. Always felt so left out of all the status checker gossip/hysteria.

Not sure if this would make the wait easier or more excruciating.

That was my situation until I turned in my fall transcripts. It sucked so bad. I'd get excited every time someone would report a lowercase email.

hey everyone, been too busy celebrating to comment sooner... my primary email changed to lowercase around 8am PST today. I got the call around 1:00pm PST telling me i was in after faculty review. i absolutely could not be more excited! so about me, in case its helpful:

172/3.6 non-URM
military veteran
small private school
complete and "submitted for review" since 9/19
submitted a LOCI, a 4th LOR, and an email detailing a deadline i was up against all in the last 2-3 months.

completely humbled and grateful... thanks to all of you for the great info over the last stressful 6ish months.

Congrats, that's awesome! Good to know there's hope for us September completes. Oh wait... there isn't.

On the bright side, looks like I've survived another day on death row. That makes 204. Yup, that's TWO HUNDRED FOUR DAYS with no word.

Will the ding/WL wave happen at the same time or will one happen before the other?
