Sometimes I wonder if the admission committee doesn't get bored and say, "Hey, let's change the capitalization/abbreviation of a few applicants' information and watch them all freak out on TLS" or "Let's see what percentage of our applicant pool can't work a simple status checker to find out how screwed we really are this cycle."

Come back from class. See that the thread is 2 pages longer. Expect movement. Find two pages about address changes.

I give this a greater than 50% chance of being true, based on intense Bayesian analysis.

Ok... I said soon yesterday, but what I really meant is next week...

guys, I just want to go back to being a normal person. I applied in November hoping that I'd be done in January, and now we're about to go into March. So.sad.
I've been waiting since mid-september.
if it's any video game console, me too

Yup, bout 2 weeks ago, no one answered, figured it was the ghost of Herbert Hoover warning me about poor financial decisions.

Hey everyone,

Long time reader (creeper?) so finally bit the bullet and checking in. This process has obviously been rough on everyone and I finally feel like instead of refreshing my status checker a billion times a day I'll hang out on here and actually contribute. It beats a status checker post, right?

A bit about me - went to UCLA undergrad, studied Bioengineering, 3.1 GPA (crap, I know), 171 LSAT. I've gotten in to some good choices so far, the highest ranked being UCLA, next Hastings. Got rejected by Columbia and Berk so I'm not feeling great about Stanford but it would be a total dream.

I'm not clever with avatars so I just uploaded a pic I like.

Alright - go team! Here's hoping we all get in...

Maybe the addresses are changing because they have an intern or high school volunteer 'helping' them and had nothing for said person to do except clean up addresses.

GUISE! GUISE!! My status checker isn't working!!!

I'm serious- this is the first time it hasn't worked for me since I sent the app on September 15th. I was actually feeling really out of the loop this whole time. After over five months, I have finally joined the club.

Better than an acceptance.

+1
I was concerned my status checker was working this whole time. Now it's not, so I'm taking it as a positive sign.

If you have WE and aren't set on CA you should check out NU. They are very splitter friendly and have solid placement. Probably a more realistic t14 for your numbers. Also the deadline to apply is Fri

I'm pretty set on CA. I grew up in the Bay, moved to LA, and live in San Diego... Sorta hard to leave paradise for snow. I don't think I would have necessarily gone to any place that doesn't have a strong biotech community considering that's where I'd like to eventually focus. More reason why Stanford would be so amazing.

But thanks for the tip!

P.S. What's WE?

Ha - yes I do have work experience. Since I graduated I have been working in communications for life science companies. Are you guys sensing a trend here? I actually hope it's my amazing "personal story" about how I'd like to work in life sciences in a different way than PR or being on the bench that gets me in. #yeahright #icandream I also have lots of experience with writing because I volunteer part time as an editor for an internationally recognized sports blog. So, that's kinda cool.

Also - snow is awful. I love the beach. I'm also a total wimp, and never really been in snow, so take that with a grain of salt. And remember, you can always go to all the different places in CA with lots of snow. I grew up near Stanford, it's really just a couple hour trip to the closest, and Tahoe is BEAUTIFUL!

But seriously though, apply to NU and UVA if you still can and UCLA/USC didn't give you a huge scholarship.

Well guys, they finally gave me the D! Good luck to you all, I hope you all snag Stanford! Gonna miss the status checker talk but I might pop in from time to time to make sure it's still broken.
