+1 also have they known for the last 7 months that they were either going to waitlist is or deny us? Or was there a time when all of us were in somewhat serious consideration and then we fell out of that or something and into the waitlist section and then again reconsidered or.... Who knows.TripTrip wrote:I'm not sure I completely understand why there is such a big delay in getting out decisions right now. If they're on the fence about an applicant, why not just waitlist them? It's not like there's a limit to the size of the waitlist.

DLS too. If it is a waitlist, which I'll find out tomorrow when I call, then I will have been waitlisted at HYS. Yay for summer waiting.

+1. Still standing here too, though I'm assuming it won't be much longer (mid September submit, early October complete)arrggg wrote:Still UR. DLS.
Could have been anytime between yesterday at around 1 PM and the last half hour.
December submit, last name near end of the alphabet. So I don't think there's a method to the madness.
Good luck to the rest of you! Still hoping that somebody gets a random pre-WL acceptance call

Seems like there's quite a few people left over, hard to think that all of us will be dings or WL's, but it sure seems to look that way.

Thanks for sharing that. If acceptances have all gone out I wish they would have been a bit quicker with the dings.porch wrote:http://stanford.lawschoolnumbers.com/applicants

Re: Stanford C/O 2016 Applicants Thread
I'm hoping all acceptances haven't gone out yet. Here's what the SLS website says: "some applications are held until the committee has reviewed the entire applicant pool. This second review occurs in April, at which time the class will be filled. (A small number of applications will be held for possible use in filling vacancies that may occur during the summer.)"angflos wrote:Thanks for sharing that. The Office of Admissions will make every effort to send applicants a first response (accept, deny, or wait list) by April 30. http://www.law.stanford.edu/degrees/jd/ ... acceptance

Re: Stanford C/O 2016 Applicants Thread
that "small number of applications" being held = the SLS waitlist. Thats what it means. The direct acceptances are done. It reiterates that point in the WL letter. The best scenario here is DLS -> WL -> acceptance after May 1emie289 wrote:I'm hoping all acceptances haven't gone out yet. Waitlisted as well. How many of us are there just on TLS now? Seems like too many to have a realistic hope

also, when speaking to them on the phone, the conversation went something like this:
SLS: it looks like you've been offered a spot on our waitlist
sd1234: oh wow! thats better than i was expecting!
*face palm*
...hopefully these conversations are not passed on to the admissions committee.

WL!
A few questions:
Can I defer if I get in off the waitlist?
How much WL movement is there? 10 accepted out of 100?

You can't defer off the waitlist. It's only to fill spots for that fall.abcde12345 wrote:WL!

That makes a lot of sense. I called the office tho (b/c if that's true, I need to notify one of my other schools!). They said they're still making all decisions, not just waitlist/deny.jbagelboy wrote:that "small number of applications" being held = the SLS waitlist. Thats what it means. Re: Stanford C/O 2016 Applicants Thread
Any thoughts on the possibility of certain applicants being placed on soft hold (not WL) to fill spots post deposit deadline? As potential proof of this practice, we may consult the admissions decision timeline graphs that were posted for the t14 near the beginning of the cycle. I searched for them on tls, but, after a short while, I decided they must be buried too deeply.

Called this morning after 5pm DLS yesterday --> Waitlist. Will probably stay on it but get off TLS to try and enjoy the spring/summer.
