So if you add up the vertical columns, they'll all add up to 100% (rounding errors notwithstanding) .So for example, of all of the applicants Stanford accepted, 21.5% of them scored between a 165 and a 169. (In other words, I don't care who was rejected or waitlisted--I'm only looking at the universe of those accepted to these schools.)
Oh, okay, interesting way to look at it. Of course, you're assuming that all three schools get a similar number of applicants in each range. Here's the data on total applicants in each range:
LSAT Range | Harvard | Yale | Stanford
160-164 | 12% | 10% | 11%
165-169 | 30% | 23% | 33%
170-174 | 41% | 45% | 41%
175-180 | 17% | 22% | 15%
Based on this, it looks like Stanford just has less high quality applicants than Harvard or Yale. Of course, this difference isn't quite as significant as the difference shown in the percentage of admits, so perhaps it's a result of both factors. Very interesting information, either way.
Disagree. But, you're right, they have less with the highest LSAT scores.
This makes me feel sad. But then why does SLS have the same/better employment/clerking outcomes? You can't explain that!

I agree with MOTM. The LSAT is the best predictor of how good someone is and can be.

May not the best, but a good one, was the president of their Law Review. That is respectable in most accounts.

If I thought it was any chance in hell that you could find that on google I would have. Most reputable Brebart article I've ever seen. And fascinating.

its been evident for some time that stanford accepts lower LSATs; its part of their index. However, I think this comes along with a stricter floor for UGPA. While HLS's 25ths are usually only a couple points shy of Stanfords, i think once you dip below 3.75, chances drop very quickly to epsilon at stanford whereas at HLS you can stay competitive with a killer LSAT. Kind of fits in with the data presented. I know its a very rough metric, but when candidates such as myself and others with similar gpa's run our stats on LSP and LSAC, we always have better shots at harvard -- in fact, as a non-urm, my GPA gets a 0% chance at SLS last I checked (which is based on previous acceptances I believe). Somehow I'm still not DLS tho (fingers crossed), probably only because of STEM course selection and upward trend.

you probably know all this, point is, I don't think the statement that stanford admits a lower standard of applicant, even on a strictly quantitative measure, is justified, and certainly not relevant to any given applicant applying to both institutions

+1

My new claim to fame is that I have a higher LSAT score than Obama.

Ugh, I don't understand why Stanford hasn't done anything with my app, then! If S tends to accept California-based applicants, I feel like that should give me a boost since I'm from there and my permanent address is still there. I don't understand why S doesn't love me or hate me--stone-cold indifference, that's the worst. :(

My guess is it will start again next week, possibly the last "wave" before the individual once-in-a-blue-moon admits get in based on the number of admits that withdraw (soft WL). Then there's the actual WL.

If we're getting any decisions today, it's DLS/WL. I doubt the office has time to start making calls today. They're all working on ASW.

Here's hoping everyone who goes to SLS ASW decides on HLS or YLS instead.

There's an east coast bias, y'all. Going to SLS is just going to hold you down in life! Don't doooooo it!
