LSN makes it seem like the ding wave started 3 days ago and has just been a rollin' slowly

For any 1Ls that opt to not live in Munger (i.e. maybe are moving with a significant other), where/what neighborhoods do they usually live in? I haven't been admitted but am considering driving around the area at some point this weekend and wanted to take a look at the potential housing stock.

I honestly have no idea how I've made it this long without a DLS. 11/5 submit, 172/3.6, strong softs but f'real now.

Don't make anything of it. Like 2/3s of TLS is still alive at Stanford.

Welp, if I don't know by April 12, I'm committing to Boalt since I'm already doing a Ph.D program there anyway. This is silly.

There's a really good chance you'll know by April 15th but if you cannot wait 3 days for a decision from Stanford freaking Law, that's your deal!

As much as I'd like to wait, I can't risk a full ride from Boalt with this program for a slight chance I'll be admitted to S.

Also, <3 Cal. :D

Why do you think there's a good chance we'll know by April 15th?

When is Admitted Students Day? I don't want to show up in the middle of it, that would be rather pretentious.

You can just accept the Cal offer and wait for stanford... if SLS does let you in, thats only another $500 you're out, which in the grand scheme of $200K, aint that much.

MOTM - no seat deposit for Cal. So it just makes you feel like a bad person to back out since they say they're going on our "honor" and "moral code." Plus, since my Ph.D program is at Boalt, it would seem unwise to do that.

Cal doesn't even require a deposit. Right now I've told Cal I will tentatively enroll, so I have until June 1st. I think you should do the same.

Oh good to know... if only Cal hadn't heartlessly rejected me. But, seat deposits basically mean, "so long as I don't get into any school where I am awaiting a final decision, I will attend." And thats your exact situation, so I don't think its unreasonable or would even be looked down upon.

Ugh. So I have to make a big fellowship decision by May 1st, so getting a DLS will probably be better for me than a WL. So sad. :(
