Lol thanks. But it's highly unlikely that they decided to hold off most of their admits till March and after this time when the given chart represents their general decision timeline for the last several years..Aawaldrop wrote:That's a nice chart from 3 years agoWalkingPlato wrote:Aaannddd get ready to get dinged if you haven't heard anything yet.

Re: Stanford C/O 2016 Applicants Thread
If you look at the chart you posted, it seems that actually a significant portion (~20%) were admitted in March and after. I agree that there will be a lot of dings (but there are going to be more dings than acceptances anyway). Not like I have any chance lolWalkingPlato wrote:Lol thanks. that huge acceptance spike in April seems surprising. But there wasn't a huge ding wave the first week of Feb was there?

Re: Stanford C/O 2016 Applicants Thread
Both graphs show about eight getting in second week of April. The admit lines are actually surprisingly consistent with each other, but the older graph has a much larger WL spike that throws the scale off and makes acceptances look miniscule by comparison.twinkletoes16 wrote:helix23 wrote:This graph is probably more accurateWalkingPlato wrote:Aaannddd get ready to get dinged if you haven't heard anything yet.

I don't think that the samples are large enough or representative enough to read anything into it beyond, (1) there are still more acceptances to come, and (2) lots of people will not get in.

Re: Stanford C/O 2016 Applicants Thread
The acceptance spike in April is for people who were initially held. If you go to SLS website, it says that after initial review, you may be held for further review in April. Unfortunately, unlike HLS, they don't tell you if you were held.twinkletoes16 wrote:helix23 wrote:This graph is probably more accurateWalkingPlato wrote:Aaannddd get ready to get dinged if you haven't heard anything yet.

Since there were no acceptances the entire month of December, I'm not sure I'd put too much weight on the graphs. This cycle is clearly different. That said, yes, there will be dings galore. Considering how many applicants are vying for a small number of spots, the statement is true but uninteresting.

Also, I did some quick numbers, and it seems like there should be around 8 more Jan submit LSN acceptances, so don't lose hope!

Typically, but I do know someone who was WL'd already and at least one TLSer reported being WL'd a week or so agojselson wrote:Email. And they don't come out til late in the cycle.xiaojimu wrote:if DLS is 100% ding, then what is notification for WL like?jselson wrote:cal1234 wrote:100% ding

I don't know about "Complete", but if you scroll back a couple pages you'll see people who went "submitted for review" in september still waiting for any contact. 11/9 here.twentypercentmore wrote:Complete on 11/30, no movement. Anyone else this far back?
