I know more than a few people in my class with LSATs in the mid 160s. I know different classes have different numbers, but 168/high gpa doesn't sound very borderline to me.
Wow! In state tuition + 11,500$? Congrats! That reassure me a little :)

Does anyone know of someone that got in with high 150 LSAT? I have a 3.92 GPA and a ton of great jobs and extracurriculars but my LSAT is 157. I'm also a Texas resident. Thanks! UT is my dream school.

I know of someone last year with a GPA slightly lower than yours, and a LSAT 1 point higher, she got in with scholarship money. She was also a resident. HTH

Your softs are most likely as mediocre as everyone else's. You really need to retake the LSAT. High GPAs are a dime a dozen and easy to achieve so you shouldn't count on that carrying you in. Try to hit 165 at least for UT (but preferably as close to 180 as possible so you can start having different, better dreams). Good luck on the retake!

I said that as someone who will most likely be strongly leaning towards choosing UT over lower T14 schools. But a 3.9 can get you into Harvard. UT is a good school but it's not Harvard.

Point is retake and get the highest score you can to put yourself in the best possible position.

I know more people than I can count who got into YHSCCN and chose UT. If you have the intellectual horsepower to do well there, you have the intellectual horsepower to do well here the biggest difference being that you are likely graduating with half the debt (or even less because if you have T6 credentials, you'll be getting a hefty scholarship) and you are perfectly positioned to get into the Texas market.

Now, if you don't want to work in Texas no matter what, then by all means, go where you want to go to school. I'm not one of those people who will try to tell somebody who wants to work in NYC that they should go to UT over Cornell.

You go there so I'll just defer to your wisdom. Plus this is for applicants and admits so it's not really the proper forum to discuss this stuff anyway.

Congrats to the new admits! I'm really looking forward to visiting the campus soon.

Got them to change my app from RD to ED, didn't realize their ED was more like EA and doesn't preclude you from EDing anywhere else. Schweet.

If scholarship info was not mentioned in my phone call from Dean Ingram and nothing was included in my mailed admissions packet, is it safe to assume that I will not be receiving any scholarship money?

Not necessarily. From what I understand scholarship information comes separately.

So how long does it usually take to get a status checker?

I applied last week and received an email confirming they got my app.

Lisjen, do you know how far apart offers are typically spaced? Should admits expect to wait days or months or does it seem random?

I got my scholarship offer about two weeks after Dean Ingram called.

Depends on your career goals. I picked UT over Harvard and still got a job that would have been extremely difficult to get out of Harvard or Yale.

I'm a 1L at texas as well. It was also about 2 weeks after I got the call that I got my initial scholarship offer, and that seems pretty standard from all the people I've talked to.

I'm not sure, I received my email confirming the receipt of my app on 10/30 and hadn't heard anything back so I went to the UT website today and went through the screen to check my status and my info was already there. You might want to try checking that way :)

Well I just tried. It said there was an error because while they have my application they have not uploaded it to the system. Oh well guess I will wait and see.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
