Congratulations!

From the looks of it, they may be pulling their top numbers first before they ask poor Texas91 and I to join. Gah. Which means (if we get in) we could be waiting until mid-March. *barf*

Did you look at LSN? It looks like they are considering some people w/ lower GPAs and 167-170s. They might be doing the same for you guys, especially if you got the interview invite.

Right. They're more LSAT friendly--I know. Unfortunately, I happen to be a reverse splitter, as are most of the people in my number family that I've been PMing. The R-Splitters are the ones they've been inviting to interview.

Which hopefully means that they want to bump their high LSAT median up before watering it down a little with my gang.

Haha. I was trying to be optimistic for you. Thought process: padding LSAT w/ splitters and their GPA drops and now they need you + your GPA + URM status probably helps. But I don't see why they would hold off w/ the reverse splitters if they have already started accepting people below medians. I'm just jelly because I really wanted an interview and I'm jealous of your GPA. I still think though that it sounds like you have had some pretty good signs. Good luck!

I know making fun of aggies is a really stupid joke. But it's fun. I'm hoping the "hehehehe" horned frog is in reference to why A&M 's saying or whatever is "gig em". (don't act like you aren't impressed that I know that.)

I didn't get in until after July 4th after being wait-listed some time in February if memory serves, so don't give up hope. I thank god every day that I never withdrew my UT app and ended up here instead of Boston College.

Has anyone who already interviewed heard back from admissions?

I also sat in on a class this past Thanksgiving time. I was also very impressed with the teaching quality and students (well... some of them). UT is #1 in my book.

There aren't many who've interviewed yet. I interviewed last week and they said it would be a "few weeks" before I would hear anything.

When you went for a tour did you meet with anybody on the admissions committee? I want to visit the school but I don't want to go all the way there without letting them know how much I want to be accepted. Ugh, I hate this wait.

I just met with the admin assistant before the tour guide showed up, and there was also a student working in the office who came to talk to us while we waited. I enjoyed the tour and the class I sat in on, but I wouldn't have done if it I hadn't been in the area anyway.

I honestly wouldn't waste your time if your only goal is to increase chances of admittance. I took a tour and sat in on a class a couple weeks ago with that as a secondary goal and didn't interact with anyone who would have influence on admissions decisions. It's maybe something you could use in a LOCI but that is about it.

Yes. I said hello to some folks in the admissions office and provided essentially what is a letter of interest stating what I did that week (tour, class, etc) and how it's still my top choice. Visiting and stating it's your top choice IMHO is worth something.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
