Does anyone know how many more JS1s are coming down the line? I would do ridiculous and degrading things for one.

In Helix's case it's true, though. He had a TD1 last week and he's been vettedObviousAlias wrote:Said every HLS applicant ever.helix23 wrote:if I got a JS1 I would be accepted.

Complete today. After three months of waiting and being assured I was "on the to-do list." Hoping the delay doesn't just mean I went straight to the reject pile.

Really disappointed by the lack of mindless speculation going on in this thread this morning.

if spring break is next week, there will 100% be a js2 wave either today or tomorrow between 4pm and 6pm
hows that for mindless speculation?

So HLS says that they let a significant number of their admits in off of the hold list--does anyone know if those admits come from the pool of people that were interviewed then subsequently held? Or from the pool of people that were taken off the hold list then JS1'd? Trying to gauge whether or not I should just say eff it and start emotionally committing to the other schools that I'm thinking about.

"significant" is vague and ambiguous. Start emotionally committing to other schools.feelingood wrote:So HLS says that they let a significant number of their admits in off of the hold list--does anyone know if those admits come from the pool of people that were interviewed then subsequently held? +1. admits come from both of the pools you described, but unfortunately they are exceptions to the rule.helix23 wrote:"significant" is vague and ambiguous. Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
+1 to everything above. "Significant" is a completely subjective measure, and to the right person 10 admits off the hold list could qualify. God knows how many are held each cycle, so I would just have to assume that the odds are not in your favor. Neither a pre- nor post-JS1 hold seems to say anything good, so if I were you I would start making alternate plans. If you end up being surprised by some good news, then fantastic!

100% with you, but thinking tomorrow. Not sure there's precedent for Thursday waves.az21833 wrote:if spring break is next week, there will 100% be a js2 wave either today or tomorrow between 4pm and 6pm

I'm 100% certain that there will be JS1s or JS2s in the future.

It seemed like Fridays were mostly for dings/hold emails up until the big 3/1 JS2 wave.Lar-ties wrote:100% with you, but thinking tomorrow. FALSE. Only js3s: JS meeting you in person and handing you a Harvard hathelix23 wrote:I'm 100% certain that there will be JS1s or JS2s in the future.

I'm sure this has been addressed many times--I've never really paid attention to "hold" talk because I assumed I would be super auto dinged--but is there a typical wait time between being held and receiving a JS1 or rejection?

Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
The phrase "late spring" is used in the hold email. The first day of summer is June 21, if you want to be literal about it. More realistically, I'd guess we'll all know something by early May when the initial WL comes out.ohpobrecito wrote:I'm sure this has been addressed many times--I've never really paid attention to "hold" talk because I assumed I would be super auto dinged--but is there a typical wait time between being held and receiving a JS1 or rejection?
