Also, according to the decision date graph at the beginning of this thread, at this time last year, 30 people had been accepted and, by the end of this current week (3rd week of December), the number jumped to 47. But then again the Skype interviews can throw off the whole scheduledcg2120 wrote:And according to Regulus's nifty chart, about 24% of applicants who had their info on LSN were accepted to Harvard last year. Which means there might be room for another ~30 of us. Plus, there's a trend toward higher admit rates and applications are down again this year...vzapana wrote:FYI: there are 259 applicants registered on LSN. only 33 (12.7%) have reported being accepted to Harvard. according to the aba, last year's acceptance rate was 15.9%. this means that early applicants who haven't heard back yet may still get good news in the upcoming weeks/months. don't lose hope!
Sorry, got caught up in the moment.

This is the email you'll receive:Regulus wrote:So... I don't ever expect to get a JS1, but just in the event I do, how exactly does the whole process work anyway? Do you just randomly receive an email out of the blue that has a date and time listed at which you are to interview, or do they tell you that you have been selected to interview and provide a list of dates/times to choose from?Spritzpiggy wrote:Does anyone know what the KB/JS interview slots look like this week? Dear Mr. Elshal,
Thank you for your interest in Harvard Law School. After reviewing your application, we would like to offer you the opportunity to have a video interview with a member of the HLS admissions staff.
Skype is the technology we use to conduct interviews. Our expectation is that Skype likely will be used for the majority of the interviews we conduct. If there is a reason (such as a disability or being in a geographic location where Skype is not available) that video-enabled Skype will not work for you, we will work with you to find an alternative.
More information about the interview can be found on our blog here: http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/admissions ... g-process/
If you do not already have Skype, please download it here: http://www.skype.com
We have found that the technology works best when using an external microphone with a computer. Additionally, using a handheld device is suitable for the interview. Either way, we ask that you test whatever device you plan to use for the interview before your appointment.
Please sign up for a twenty-minute interview slot here: Link to Calendar
In order to sign up for an interview time slot you must provide the following information:
• First and Last Names
• LSAC #
• Skype Account Name
• Current Phone Number (as a back-up to Skype)
If you have any questions about scheduling your interview, please contact the J.D. Admissions Office by responding to this email.
We look forward to our upcoming conversation.
Sincerely,
J.D. Admissions

If we were asked to interview on 11/29, which wave of interviews was that?
Gah, I hate waiting... I interviewed on 12/12.

Substantially less so a couple weeks post-JS1 with nothing but chirping crickets and whiskey to keep you warm at night.facile princeps wrote:

Also, it's pretty hard not to take a rejection personally after you've actually interviewed. Better nothing at all than a JS1 and no JS2.
Congrats to last week's admits!

Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I can only imagine how annoyingly frustrating that must be. Sometimes i comfort myself by saying it's better to not have gotten an interview than to have gotten one and not hear back from them. Either way, it sucks. Hope you get that call soon, man. I'm preparing for either a waitlist or a rejection as i've been complete since 10/17.shntn wrote: Substantially less so a couple weeks post-JS1 with nothing but chirping crickets and whiskey to keep you warm at night.

Same here. I've been quite nervous ever since my interview...domino wrote:similar boat--pulling hard for us!adoseofwendy wrote:If we were asked to interview on 11/29, which wave of interviews was that?

I think the "wave" depends on your interview date since invitees have quite a range of dates they can select.

Will Harvard, or any other T14s accept LORs not sent through LSAC? I am already under review but my boss/the CEO (my other boss already wrote one) wants to write me one but i am maxed out at Harvard and other t14s. any idea if they will accept?

Also, if you're maxed out, really reconsider sending yet another LOR. Isn't max like 4 anyways? I think even 3 LORs is a bit much, and it sounds like this is another work-related LOR, so not sure how much more insight it'll provide.

Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
There seems to be 1 more round of JS2s before the break according to previous years. Goodluck to all those waiting after their JS1s.
Not sure if anymore JS1s are going out before the break, depends if they have the interview slots already filled up or not.
After the break brings the first round of rejections so that should be fun.

Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
To clarify- is this the break from JS1 and JS2's while the admissions office is presumably closed for the holidays? If so, can you share when things started back up again in Ianuary last year? Thanks for the wisdom on this
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
