Good luck :). Hopefully some of us get in next week. To be honest, just getting an interview still seems pretty surreal. Getting into Harvard seems so awesome it almost seems impossible.

One thing that annoyed me was that during the interview, friends kept texting me "good luck"! and so on and my phone kept buzzing. Kind of distracting :O.

I switched my phone to silent right before the interview just in case... and thank goodness I did!

Also annoying - My roommate was working from home the day of my interview and she could hear literally ALL the questions and answers. At first I thought, oh great, instant feedback but after a certain point, I just don't want to know.

Sure, I guess I don't mind (they can already figure out who I am anyway). I asked about:

0L Summer Research Assistant positions

The accessibility of the professors

How the clinics compare to those of other schools

How I would fit in given that I don't come from an "elite" undergrad

ETA: Just want to also point out that I edited my post on the previous page to include two other questions I forgot about.

Thanks! The interview with Jessica made me want to go to Harvard even more. Such a cool place.

Lavitz wrote:Also just finished my interview but it was with KB--who is pretty awesome herself.

Questions I remember her asking:

"Tell me about your job."

"How have your experiences at that job informed your decision to go to law school?"

"What are you looking forward to at Harvard?"

"Is there a particular area of study you find most attractive?"

"What do you think your greatest challenge would be at Harvard?"

"What accomplishment are you most proud of?"

"What do you envision a successful career for yourself would look like?"

"Is there anything you were hoping I would ask? In other words, is there anything not in your app that you'd like us to know about you?" (I was caught off guard by this, completely blanked out, and then punted the question by saying "nope, it's all in my app." )

"Do you have any questions for me?" (Asked her like 4 questions)

Interview lasted about 14:30.

Edited to add more questions I just remembered.
very interesting. my interview was with JS and all her questions were about the research i mentioned in my ps except for one. seems like from what you said and from what pacifica said, KB asks more general job interview type questions compared to what I experienced with JS. do others who had their interviews with JS feel the same?

Anyone know the schedule for JS1s this week? My guess would be that on the first day that there are no JS1s there is a good chance the JS2s will go out.

Edit: Using the link she gave to schedule my JS1, it looks like there at least JS1s through this Thursday, but that next week is entirely clear up through this point. I guess the safe bet would be on Monday then, as it has been in years past.

Just had my JS1 today - don't think I did too great, but I'm hoping I can chalk that up to nerves/bias. I got asked some pretty specific questions about my work experience, and pretty much no general questions (why law/why H/etc). PM if you want details on the questions.

Thanks, Lavitz.

Any idea how many weeks the first JS1 wave lasts?

Trend? 11/20 this year?

Predictions?
The trend is the Monday of thanksgiving week, so I am betting on 11/19. But who knows how this Skype process will affect releases?

It depends on how you define "wave." I use "wave and "batch" almost interchangeably to refer to each day JS1s or JS2s come out. (The only exception being that I would refer to the 10/31 and 11/2 invites as being two batches in the same wave due to the short amount of time between them.)

So the first two waves of JS1s already occurred, we're waiting on the third, and they should continue trickling in at what appears to be a pace of one per week.

Much appreciated.

Except there seems to be some thought that the JS1 wave will stop to allow the JS2 wave to roll in.

Is that right, Lavitz?

My guess is that JS2s come out the first few days before thanksgiving and that they'll probably be too busy to do more than a few JS1s that week. I think the next JS1 wave will sign up for times post thanksgiving.

And to all my fellow JS0s out there, let's hope for another wave of invites soon. I'm sure there's still time for all of us. Hope springs eternal

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
