If they actually connected TLS/LSN to real applicants, then that means I must have REALLY screwed up my JS1 given how much I've waxed poetic about HLS. Boo.

Again, I think unless you give them reason to they don't try.

They're not watching the threads. If they were, Helix would have been auto-admitted to all schools with full tuition.helix23 wrote:sweet! Because if that's the case we can all spontaneously praise HLS and see if we get some JS2s before 1.
Schools aren't actively trying to tie applicants to TLS accounts. Its more of a someone said something and now I'm curious so I look at their profile/LSN/post history to see if I can match their stats/dates to a applicant.

There aren't 7000 named scholarships to go around. In the interest of yield protection and not wasting their time, a little googling could pay dividends, especially when I made it so easy to pinpoint me. A little remorse in that regard is all I'm talking about. I don't really care if they actually do or not, I'm just wondering out loud because my butt is still a little sensitive after having to rule CLS out as a viable option the other night.TripTrip wrote: Right. 7000 applicants, and not enough information in the application itself... so they tried to deduce TLS and LSN profiles.
Next year there will be a box on the LSAC universal application for LSN and TLS usernames.
Considering the shortage of good senses of humor at all law schools, I see this is a pro, not a conWormfather wrote:They dont match people to accounts. I'm tracking all my dates in Excel and will post at the end of the cycle for this reason.sabanist wrote:I've seriously wondered if it played a role in how long my decision from CLS took and the fact that I didn't get any money from them. I've been pretty openly enthusiastic about HLS (and the potential of YLS until my ding comes), to the exclusion of CLS and UChi. My LSN is accurate, and it isn't hard to figure out my UG if you try. I wouldn't be surprised if I screwed myself over there.twinkletoes16 wrote:In retrospect I would have not posted at all this cycle
It's all speculation, but I would have fudged things more and been less open if I could do it again.
But the problem I have with this theory is they would have dinged or WL you if they were thinking how you suggested. Or given you a ton of money. Just letting you in half heartedly does nothing but hurt their yield.
Maybe they wanted to make sure you could make it to the end of your current semester without being KO'ed and robbed. For YP and all.

Yeah, I can't really make sense of it either. Like I said, I'm just thinking out loud because of the hurt feefees and all.wert3813 wrote: But the problem I have with this theory is they would have dinged or WL you if they were thinking how you suggested. Oh well. It makes my decision a lot easier, and for that I'm grateful

Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I asked because I really don't believe it. And I'm not sure how interested I'd be in a school if I felt like some innocuous post on a message board played a role in my application. I mean I personally don't post in any of the other school threads and yet I've applied to several and while I consider HLS my number one choice it's far from the only school I'm seriously interested. Maybe, though, I just want to expect more than lame stalker behavior from admissions - unless someone went on a lunatic rant here, then I might be compelled to find out who they are. Regardless, for anyone working in the admissions office reading this post there are several clues that suggest where I really want to be. (If you can't figure out the clues you do not work in the admissions office )sabanist wrote:I've seriously wondered if it played a role in how long my decision from CLS took and the fact that I didn't get any money from them. Yeah, I think that's where her "be on your best e-behavior" warning came from.wert3813 wrote: Right. But I would be stunned if it is a I try to find someone's TLS account before I make a decision situation. I think it's way more of I'm surfing during lunch hop over to TLS someone said something that interests me so I spend 5 minutes trying to make him/her situation.

Looks like the consensus is dings/holds tomorrow. I'm gonna be optimistic (hopelessly?) and call tomorrow as a JS1 invite day. At least if I'm wrong, I can justify starting to drink early in the day.

it's been a while since the last BIG ding wave, and I just have this pesky feeling it'll be tomorrow.

To those who signed up for interview slots, did you immediately receive an email confirming your interview? I'm starting to think I didn't actually sign up but I could just be paranoid.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
