Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
After being a longtime lurker I added a few posts, now after a few posts I've stepped up to adding an avatar and all the previous extra secret information about this chaotic admissions season. I'll add that I've been post JS1 for over forty days and forty nights with no hold, ding or waitlist. I'm feeling like I might just register for classes come fall if I haven't heard back by then. Congrats again to all the recent submits.

Woo!! I've been following your cycle particularly closely, as you know, so I'm so glad things are panning out so perfectly!carboncopyx wrote:JS2!!
It's funny because I was definitely under my covers in bed crying to my mom about not getting in when call waiting came on... and it was JS. In disbelief. KB1 on 2/13.

sorry guys just got home from work
carbon, MOTM, boblaw - you guys make me proud. so happy for you. time to rock cambridge in style...it was only a matter of time. hope you are out either getting wasted or laid right now
selfish self-centered egotistical addendum: any movement from the held category today - either out of it or in it?

Oh, guys! someone's going to thump me on the head for asking this, but here goes -- how should I be feeling about being called in for a skype interview? Not auto-admit but strongly positive sign? Not even strongly positive sign?
I should explain: i tried googling this and searching the forum but failed massively. Tried looking up 'js1' tips from past years but I wonder if tips may have changed this year, considering that the situation has changed (more kids being interviewed, longer interviews...)
I applied at Christmas -- nearly cringed when submitting the application because I didn't think I had a chance in hell for Harvard. found out about the js1 (that's what I call it?) yesterday. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Congrats!! It's a really positive sign; it's required that all admitted students be interviewed by the admissions office before they get an offer, and 70% of those invited for an interview are expected to be admitted. Know your application and resume cold, know your weaknesses and have ready one or two interesting personal stories that may have not have been in your app. Here is a thread with more tips: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 2&t=200887Glassjar wrote:Oh, guys! someone's going to thump me on the head for asking this, but here goes -- how should I be feeling about being called in for a skype interview? Longtime lurker here. Dinged yesterday.
LSAT: 164/174
GPA: 3.9
Softs kind of weak, so that's probably what got me.
JS1 was on 2/15.
Thanks for all your help and advice! Best of luck to everyone!

Hey sorry to hear that, but I'm sure with your credentials you will have some pretty good offers when all is said and done. Are you a KJD?LikeLightning wrote:Longtime lurker here. Dinged yesterday.

Your ding really puts things in perspective for me... more than ever, I realize how little of a chance I have now (if any). Out of curiosity, how did you think your JS1 went?LikeLightning wrote:Longtime lurker here. Dinged yesterday.

Dude, keep the faith. For those of us still waiting, let's stay positive. I just got out of my post-missed-the-JS2-waterfall rut!PRgradBYU wrote:Your ding really puts things in perspective for me... more than ever, I realize how little of a chance I have now (if any). BTW, this thread is so quiet without carbon and MOTM. Probably post-gaming that JS2.

No news is good news! The post-JS1 hold or ding is quite a possibility... so you're good if it hasn't gotten to that yet still.bosmer88 wrote:Dude, keep the faith. For those of us still waiting, let's stay positive. I just got out of my post-missed-the-JS2-waterfall rut!

Aaaand let's just say that I have written 0 pages of my paper due next week. I was supposed to be done yesterday. The post-game goes on!

Have any January completes been dinged yet? I still haven't heard a single word back yet. Just wondering when my presumed ding should be coming, and hoping for a hold

Only noted one on LSN who went complete on 1/10 and rejected on 3/1. http://lawschoolnumbers.com/dodgerspackersblazerjdadmiss wrote:Have any January completes been dinged yet? I still haven't heard a single word back yet. Just wondering when my presumed ding should be coming, and hoping for a hold

I suppose a little optimism wouldn't hurt anyone! Our chances are still alive. We should be celebrating that.

Most definitely! We are still in the running. I am trying to be optimistic until I really feel it would be unreasonable to do so. I don't think we are at that point yet.

Yeah, I'm a KJD. And for the record, I haven't killed anyone, and I felt like my JS1 went pretty well. Hard to tell with those things though.facile princeps wrote:Hey sorry to hear that, but I'm sure with your credentials you will have some pretty good offers when all is said and done. But don't give up hope everyone! I was kind of bummed about getting dinged by HLS, especially since I'm a red dot in a sea of green on LSN. Didn't even get waitlisted. Then, last night, I got a call from New Haven ... You really can't predict how these things will turn out.
