Umm, so I guess it would be kinda cool to take classes from Cass Sunstein, right? Call me maybe, Ms. Soban.

Lessig, Zittrain, and now Sunstein... HLS is like an academic Zion for me. Sigh.zidane13 wrote:http://www.law.harvard.edu/news/2013/02 ... ium=social

Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I think it depends on the award's prestige. If you do notify them, I would suspect that a brief update on the award (rather than a full-blown LOCI) would be sufficient.rock90123 wrote:I had my JS1 a couple weeks ago, and I recently received a nice award. Do you think it's worth letting them know now with an LOCI, or to wait until after a hold/waitlist? Does anyone send an LOCI before a decision?

Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Well to offer a contrary opinion, if your award is significant I would send an update. If you get rejected outright and didn't send the update you would be disappointed. If you send it and still get held/wl or rejected than the award didn't matter. But not to send it, in my opinion, if you consider the award significant, would be a mistake, or at the very least a missed opportunity. And I'd say a brief update, just a sentence or two or three. No more than that though. And this wouldn't be a LOCI as much as an update to your application.Cicero76 wrote:I would not personally send a LOCI before a decision.rock90123 wrote:I had my JS1 a couple weeks ago, and I recently received a nice award. Any predictions on when the next round of JS1s might go out? It's a long shot for me, but a boy can dream.

Hey guys, any idea whether dings sometimes happen over the phone? From what I have seen, dings usually seem to be confined to e-mail, while acceptances happen over the phone.

I don't think they ever call you for dings. Did they just call you?elorica8 wrote:Hey guys, any idea whether dings sometimes happen over the phone? From what I have seen, dings usually seem to be confined to e-mail, while acceptances happen over the phone.

Nah. I have my JS1 tomorrow morning. Just freaking out in advance I also never have the opportunity to answer my phone at work, so just trying to see whether I can predict the outcome by the area code that appears in "missed calls"

Keep the faith! I thought they called a bit later in the afternoon, if memory serves me right.az21833 wrote:the 13th day. the dream dims.

Let's just say I'm past 30 days, nearly at 40; if you aren't past 30 days you really can't feel nervous yet.

I wonder if JS2s will be a bit more unpredictable from this point forward? There were a bunch of held people in the last wave.

Frankly it hasn't been predictable yet, except for the guy wit a HLS legacy from Exeter-Princeton who got in without a JS1. Late congratulations to him too. And everyone else who's already gotten in.bosmer88 wrote:I wonder if JS2s will be a bit more unpredictable from this point forward? There were a bunch of held people in the last wave.

Has it basically been by the numbers, irrespective of how people did on their JS1s? Or just all over the place with no dicernable pattern?d330 wrote:Frankly it hasn't been predictable yet, except for the guy wit a HLS legacy from Exeter-Princeton who got in without a JS1.bosmer88 wrote:I wonder if JS2s will be a bit more unpredictable from this point forward? Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
some JS2s have had significantly lower numbers, but they are probably very interesting/noteworthy applicants otherwise. and it appears that bad JS1s have sunk applicants with stellar numbers. so numbers don't necessarily make or break a candidate.pedestrian wrote:Has it basically been by the numbers, irrespective of how people did on their JS1s? Just finished my interview with KB, and I think it went well! Lots of smiling and laughing, which I hope is a good sign. She basically asked the same questions Lavitz posted. About 16-17 minutes, but it went really quickly, and KB was really approachable. I got all nervous for nothing! Now, just hoping for a js2!

Have any January completes seen movement yet? I'm expecting a hold/ding, but haven't heard anything yet. Wondering if that's good news or meaningless.
