They'll let you know alright. They will send some sort of email saying that they haven't reached a decision and are holding the application. It's not very pretty from that point forward.
:(

These next few days shall be rather interesting.

Last semester I got all As, which bumped my GPA from 3.5 on the nose to 3.5x. Should I send an updated transcript or should I wait until I'm waitlisted or held to send it as an LOCI?

Also, why doesn't Harvard love me?
my thought is to send it now becuase it might help you avoid a rejection (sounds pretty unlikely but just in case). however this comes from a place of no knowledge.

and congrats on doing awesome!

A little off topic, but if we haven't seen any date changes in our Status Checker (I applied in early Nov.), I'm guessing it's a rejection, right? Did admitted students see date changes/updates in their Status Checker?

Better to go in blind than to over-think it, in my opinion. Just relax, for some reason I think you're going to be fine in your interview...

Checking in. Submitted yesterday and got an e-mail saying it was received today. Congrats to all the JS1s!! From what it seems, Harvard has a pretty quick turnaround. Are JS1 invitation waves every two weeks/one month or so?

i get that this is not real but was still mildly depressing

I don't really get worried about skepticism over the internet. I'm guessing it's the lack of an interview that's suspect here. I realize the point of this forum is to give people an idea of what to expect etc., and I can give everyone my anonymous internet assurance that I'm not lying/have nothing to gain from doing so etc., but people will take that as they will.

If anyone cares, I know of three other people admitted without interviews. All of them were HLS legacy. An Exeter classmate of mine was admitted this cycle, sans interview, with a 172.

Obviously it's difficult to believe that anyone in my situation exists, let alone posts on TLS.

But, really, do what you can to take your mind off things. Sorry, I guess.
Congrats!

I wish they'd reject people sooner rather than later. If they know you're an auto ding just pull the trigger so I can stop fantasizing about a miracle.

I'm gonna agree with this for the very good reason that on the day I interviewed, everyone got the opposite person. Better off just going in blind and being prepared for all situations. I got caught off guard when I was expecting KB and suddenly JS pops up on-screen

I tried everything since I'm a PC prole too, and the blackberry calendar option sends an email that includes the interviewer. FWIW, several people ended up interviewing with KB when they thought they had JS and vice versa earlier in the cycle.

You'll ride the waitlist until August, lose out on two seat-deposits and four phone numbers (At least 717s)from ASW , have to get an apartment 20 minutes from campus, sell your dog to strangers on craigslist because all the pet-friendly apartments are booked, return the brand new car your parents got you for Lawlschool, and take out 200k in debt. And dammit, you'll have a smile on your face because you're going to Harvard!

Hopefully this isn't the case because I have to fit in return to Motherland for new visa in there somewhere.

It took a month for mine to go complete... With my numbers, I figured that Harvard saw no reason to rush!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the status checker never really changes, does it? Could someone who got a JS-1 answer this? Did your status change with the JS-1?

Depends. Some saw a month-1.5 months whereas i submitted 12/2-12/3 and went complete 12/12-12/13.

edit: which was surprising mine was so quick with others waiting a month+ with no holidays since i'm an auto reject.
