Thanks, guys. Just waiting for Tuesday now.

They're not doing the "under review" this year, and the status doesn't change when you get a JS1. So it'll stay at complete until you're accepted, held, waitlisted or rejected.

good luck to everyone who has interviews. hope you totally kill it.
noob question: how long did it take from when you pressed "submit" for your application to go complete in the hls status checker? they say it can take up to a month, but i was wondering what ppl were actually seeing.

I am not basing this on anything but I think that people are getting interviews later in the cycle than they would have because The Skype interview is longer and harder to coordinate which slows everything down. people with numbers that last cycle already got interviews at this time of the year are probably not going to get them for another few more days... but that's just one man's opinion

Not going to get as detailed as Helix but I submitted mine on the night of 10/27 and was updated to "complete" the morning of 11/6

Those who have done their skype interview, were questions similar to last year.. why law? why harvard? what are you up to now? Or more like a job interview.. what are your strengths and weaknesses, why are you qualified, etc.

Yeah, I've been following but was hoping for some more input. Seemed to be mostly application related but someone mentioned general questions.

thanks--this is feeding my irrational hope that I'll get a js1 before the first round of decisions go out. doesn't really make sense, but just going with it!
haha omg. love it.

I think so. My guess is since interviews end on Thursday, Harvard will decide whom to admit on Friday, and the calls will go out on Monday.

I think that's the most likely time as well, though I'm still waiting for them to post the interview schedule for next week. If Monday isn't an option, I would take it as a sign that they plan on doing the JS2s that day.
Still, I wouldn't be too surprised if they came out after Thanksgiving this year, only because I don't know whether the new interview format plus an earlier Thanksgiving will delay them.

I asked what the timeline is during my interview, and they said that the first round will be before Thanksgiving.

Hah, thanks for posting that. I was going to ask that during mine, but now it looks like I won't have to.
Okay, so most likely Monday, unless it appears they're doing more interviews that day, in which case it would probably be whichever pre-Thanksgiving day they're not doing interviews.

Theory: there may be additional admit decisions next week for those who have not had a JS1. Since not everyone offered admission gets an interview, it stands to reason that a few could receive "JS2" phone calls next week out of the clear blue. That's me boosting the hopes of early applicants with stellar numbers who haven't yet heard anything.
Edit: upon further review, the ruling on the field is overturned. It would appear no interview = no acceptance.

Huh? Did something change that I'm not aware of?

I'm sorry, but that's not correct. Everyone who eventually gets accepted always has to go through an interview first. I've never heard of an exception to this.

That was not my impression from reading the interviews that have been done with JS and her predecessors....but, I acknowledge that you're probably more schooled on the HLS process than I am. I'd have to go back and figure out how I got that impression....but in the meantime, I yield the point.
