Do JS1's start going out after the status checker changes to "complete", or are they only sent after "under review"? I just went complete recently and want to know whether I should start compulsively checking my email in the hope that an invite appears.

It took about a day for me.GeneralMuffin wrote:For those scheduling interviews, how long did it take for you to receive a confirmation of your interview time? I received an email acknowledging my appointment request on Monday, but have not yet received any other confirmation email.

Compulsively checking your email will drive you nuts pretty quick -- I know that from personal experience.bertrussell wrote:Do JS1's start going out after the status checker changes to "complete", or are they only sent after "under review"? We go under review at Harvard?? I was under the impression that it stayed at "complete". Great. Another thing to check. Is this correct?

No I'm totally wrong. Complete is the last step before the decision. My bad.Teflon_Don wrote:We go under review at Harvard?? I was under the impression that it stayed at "complete". Great. Another thing to check. Is this correct?
ETA: My previous point was correct though, you can receive a JS1 within a week of going complete, but I was complete for three months before receiving mine.

Does anyone know if HLS has stopped using NeedAccess from 2013?

So if you went complete 10/22 and haven't heard anything, how would you read that? I'm taking it as negative.
Numbers were 170 3.79 gpa + masters + TFA

Pointless speculation: a couple JS2s go out today, at least for the people who interviewed last week.

At least you haven't been denied yet though. They are probably waiting to see who applies with October/December scores.

Apologies if this has been answered already, but I haven't found it yet. If you are destined for the waitlist, will you still get a JS1, and then get waitlisted, or do they waitlist people and then do interviews as they have space for them?

Thanks! I know with my 3.6 I'm below their GPA floor, so my only hope is to claw my way in off the wait list.danitt wrote:Both.ph5354a wrote:Apologies if this has been answered already, but I haven't found it yet. Hey, no need to be so harsh at this point. Nobody really knows how it's going to work since this is the first complete cycle with JS as dean. By the way, they haven't started sending any rejections yet, so that's not much of a comfort.TripTrip wrote:Sorry bud, looks like Harvard was a big reach for you anyway.snowflake12345 wrote:So if you went complete 10/22 and haven't heard anything, how would you read that? Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I wouldn't get completely discouraged yet w/ those numbers and softs. HLS has in the past rejected many with higher numbers, but they have also unexpectedly admitted some with much lower numbers. It's not a great sign that you're still waiting to see movement, but it's not over yet either. They're probably waiting to see how you stack up with the full(er) applicant pool.rehsalt wrote:Hey, no need to be so harsh at this point. Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I think it varies a lot by case, or that’s the impression I’ve gotten. It seems like some interviews are more perfunctory, just going through the motions, and others – like mine, I think – are really important for figuring out a candidate, whether law school and Harvard make sense, so on. So, my guess is that it would depend: yes, for some a bad interview could ruin their chances, for others it might just be shrugged off as a bad day.permapress wrote:how important is your js1... is it possible to do horribly and still get accepted?
Anyway, I doubt you or anybody here is going to have a truly horrible interview, unless you happen to start speaking in tongues or something.

Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
There have been people in this cycle who felt like you feel right now and gotten JS2s. I'm sure you didn't do nearly as bad as you think. Hang in there! Every day post-JS1 is an assault on the psyche. I recommend a strict alcohol regimen to keep your mind limber.permapress wrote:how important is your js1... is it possible to do horribly and still get accepted?

Do we know how many (IF any) below 25th % GPA above median LSAT people have gotten JS1s?
Or are they just waiting to ding us?
