only 150 people interview with cornell? this is weird. also why do they tell people this. much less extensive than harvard/chicago.

I got a decision 2 days after my 3rd post complete update, which was about a week after my 2nd update. Don't know if that helps at all for a time estimate?VeeD101 wrote:All the dates match mine! Someone mentioned earlier that they received a decision about 10 days after their 2nd update. So, hopefully we should hear something next week. I don't know if anyone has a more accurate answer?tdense wrote:I went complete on 1/11 and have had updates on 2/11 and 2/22. Anyone have an estimate of how long it will take to receive a decision? Thanks!

It also depends on your numbers, and what else you have to offer. A URM with high stats will goes to the front of the review line at most schools.Everywhere and everyone is different.
Someone just over Cornell's 75th LSAT, which would encourage a quick review, but could be below the median of CCN and thus, no rush.
Yield protection as well as cost/time.only 150 people interview with cornell? this is weird. also why do they tell people this. much less extensive than harvard/chicago.
Yields is more important to the smaller schools. Also, it costs money and takes a LOT of time to interview the masses (as Chicago is finding out). Of course, H has no issue with yield; they just want to ensure that the matriculant can hold a 5 minute conversation.
As to why they tell folks: transparency. And I'd guess that it eliminates a lot of phone calls from anxious applicants who ask that question.

Here are some pictures of the campus. I forgot to take pictures of the back parking lot. Due to the construction, that's the most convenient entrance for commuting students. Construction should end in a little more than a year.

Would you like additional pictures? The classrooms look amazing. The construction... you learn to live with it.dproduct wrote:Thanks for pictures!

I would love to see pictures of the classrooms. It would be nice to see where we would be spending a lot of time if we were accepted and attendedkapital98 wrote:Would you like additional pictures? I know being around construction sucks, but it (allegedly) will only be ongoing for our first year, and the next two years we get to enjoy brand new beautiful classrooms and a new courtyard. I honestly didn't even notice it that much when I was there, but I'm sure current students can speak better to that point.

Re: Cornell c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Having those extra classrooms is all well and good for FUTURE incoming classes, but for us, having construction right outside the on-campus law housing is a HUGE drawback for me. So you say it's 'only' for our first year? Well isn't it basically our MOST important year in law school? The top 1L students will get paid internships in the summer and that first year GPA also sets you up for OCI in your 2nd year. That's what my concern is.
Plus, IMO, the off-campus living options suck compared to other schools. The closest place to live that's off campus is Collegetown and it winds up being way overpriced and full of noisy undergrads at night. And from my experience, my friends wound up hating having to drive to campus or 'walk 15 minutes' in the snow and ice, which basically starts Oct./Nov. - March/April.
I found a time-lapse video of the construction that started in June. Check out the 2nd half of the video when the weather starts to turn to shit...basically every picture has ALL snow and bad weather conditions:

Re: Cornell c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
lol I guess not. I haven't been there since last spring (before construction started). One of my personal stipulations of going there was to live in the on-campus housing because I hated the idea of living in Collegetown...and also because I didn't want to live farther away when the weather got shitty.

Lots of people say the opposite - as in, they want to live OFF campus bc Cornells on campus us very dorm like..Bill wrote:lol I guess not.
