So I hear for those who are put on the waitlist get optional interviews? How does that work?

Does it actually improve your chances of getting in?

I think it's really a way for you to demonstrate your interest in Cornell more than anything. Cornell's waitlist isn't ranked, so they just evaluate it when they have extra spots. If this is the case, it is imperative that they know that if admitted, you will attend. My understanding is that is the most important factor in when their choosing people off the waitlist. An interview is a great way to demonstrate that. This process doesn't really happen until the summer, so they're under a deadline to fill their class by the time the semester starts, and they don't want to offer spots to people who won't end up coming.

My tracker only moved twice before I was deferred...you might be seeing a decision soon.

I checked mine an hour ago with 11/28 complete, and again a minute ago with 11/29 complete. Something may be brewing

It was only my second though. I haven't been paying that close attention to this thread to know how many updates it takes to get to the center of the Tootsie Pop. Can anyone enlighten me?

I think the general consensus has been that the 3rd update is the most significant. Shortly after the 3rd update people have gotten either admit or deferral emails.

I got my 2nd update on 11/26 btw, really hoping to hear something in the next week or so (though probably wishful thinking). Been refreshing my status checker obsessively since Monday morning when it changed
