Still 3/26, which was my first complete update since the initial complete sometime in January. Anyone has any idea if this means anything? Or just that my app hasn't been viewed at all? I'm kind of holding my breath that they are keeping me to see who deposits but at the same time it's just a long show that I don't know

I think the deadline is either 4/15 or two weeks after your acceptance--whichever is later.

Have any early-mid March admits received scholarship info? I have scholarship deadlines for two other schools on the 15th and I am losing hope that I will receive an offer and have time to negotiate before then. I'll likely send them an email today or tomorrow though.

I did too and they emailed me yesterday asking if I was planning on submitting lol. So I sent in the form with just the box for Merit Aid checked. We'll see what comes of it, likely not a lot....

I dunno. Cornell's kinda giving off the snake oil salesman vibe.
(After being deferred early action): "Please understand that you have not been denied admission and will be given full consideration in March!"
(After being reserved four months later): "Don't lose hope! You are still in the running and have been placed on our several hundred person reserve list!"

Wonder when they're finally going to tell us that we're screwed! Maybe when reserve turns to waitlist in May.

I was also admitted mid-march and haven't heard anything. I too am worrisome about the April 15th deadlines. I will probably email them after business hours on Wednesday if I don't hear before then.

I got a small scholarship increase from Cornell, $7,000 to $10,000. However, I'm hoping to get a bit of money from Michigan, and if I do, I'll probably go there.

I really liked Cornell when I visited, but the Michigan visit put things in perspective. Things I thought weakened Cornell by comparison:

1) Cornell students seem focused on BigLaw. Someone called it mini-Columbia, and I can see what they meant. At Michigan the students seemed more genuinely interested in the clinics and public-interest work, which made it a more diverse and social atmosphere. It also explains the employment stat difference. Maybe this was just my perception.
2) The fact that Cornell is going to be under construction from now until the end of time is a pain. If you're going to shell out top dollar to go to a beautiful school, you might as well avoid having the experience marred by construction.
3) There's a reason they're doing that construction. The school needs it.
4) Ann Arbor has more stuff to do.
5) Lawyer's Club > Hughes Hall
6) Michigan is a truly national school. Cornell is great for NYC.
7) Michigan faculty is larger, and the variety of courses is greater.

Things that lean Cornell's way:

1) Cornell Ivy league status is nice. People who aren't involved in law are likely to assume Cornell is a top-ranked school. With Michigan, I assume that's less true.
2) Access to the BigLaw market in New York.
3) The undergrad population at Mich. is probably more annoying. They use the law school studying areas, and the frat houses are right across the street.
4) Ann Arbor is the better town in terms of stuff to do, but Ithaca is in a better place geographically. The proximity to mountains is an advantage for me because I like to ski. And being from the east, Cornell is closer to home.

Would anyone who has visited both schools dispute this framing of the comparison. Are there things I'm missing or getting wrong?

If you were facing the choice, with Cornell being a bit cheaper, where would you go?

Cornell b/c employment stats are significantly better and it's cheaper. Those are the two primary concerns, everything else is way down the list.
