definitely call. You seem to have a loveable personality, it will help them to put a personality with the application. Just make sure to be memorable.iMisto wrote:Still nothing. I'm getting anxious... should I call or something? I don't want to irritate them.

I know I'm bothering people... but, I submitted 8/17, received 9/19, went complete 9/25, and have an update of complete on 10/8. No further progress. I should just throw my computer in the trash.

Misto,
Have faith that things will work in your favor. Do the best you can to stay away from the status checker, worrying about your admission will not make the decision come any faster! Just try to be patient and hold on, your good news is coming soon enough.
Love and light, my brother...love and light

Don't worry, no news is better than bad news. At least based on what I've gleaned from this thread so far, it seems like they're just getting all of the auto-admits out of the way. My best advice would be to get away from this thread in particular and just chill. And look on the bright side: At least your app is in.

your numbers are not autoadmit. it makes perfect sense that yours would take longer.iMisto wrote:I know I'm bothering people... but, I submitted 8/17, received 9/19, went complete 9/25, and have an update of complete on 10/8. No further progress. I should just throw my computer in the trash.

Yeah, I wanted this to be said but didn't want to be the one saying it. Good advice. Just relax, enjoy the fall weather, etc. It's wayyyyyy the hell early in this cycle.alwayssunnyinfl wrote:Don't worry, no news is better than bad news. IMisto, considering the general level of impatience on this board, the fact that everyone is telling you to chill means you should probably listen to that advice. Though I do acknowledge that it is easy for accepted people to say that because they don't have to wait anymore.
Also keep in mind that some of your number twins are starting to get accepted so you should be too, probably within a month. And being accepted in November would still be crazy ass early.

If it makes you feel any better, iMisto, I'm still waiting on LSAC to review my fee waiver appeal. (General warning to anyone who applies for one in the future: They're really fast about getting back to you about everything until you submit your paperwork. Then, it takes AT LEAST 3 weeks for them to process your appeal.) Moral of the story: I'll be waiting until November 2nd at the earliest to submit any more apps, and I'm telling you to calm down.BigZuck wrote: Though I do acknowledge that it is easy for accepted people to say that because they don't have to wait anymore.

Yeah, hit a pretty major financial roadblock in August, wanted to make sure my ED apps went through first before I dealt with all of that stuff. UVA took their sweet time getting back to me with a WL and Michigan took too long to request my info from LSAC before they put my account on holdWhiteyCakes wrote: Should've gotten that shit done over the summer Sunny
But whatever, November's still early-ish...

Absolutely. I take a little comfort in that even though I may not be an auto admit, I'm not an auto reject either. I can work with that.alwayssunnyinfl wrote:Don't worry, no news is better than bad news. How long did it take for your status to be complete? If I apply Oct. 31 is that cutting it too short for the Early Action deadline? Thanks for the help

No one will know the real answer to this question. Why would you take that risk if you want to do early action?Teflon_Don wrote:How long did it take for your status to be complete? If I apply Oct. 31 is that cutting it too short for the Early Action deadline? Thanks for the help

Re: Cornell c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Except me. I sent in my app Oct. 31st last year (took a few days getting it complete, I had a few recommendations that took a bit) and heard back in mid-December. Yes, that is still EA. As long as you send in the initial form before Nov. 1st, you're fine.Chickensoup wrote:No one will know the real answer to this question. Re: Cornell c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
What did you guys write for your 3-sentence why cornell part of the application? Just three succinct sentences about what you like most about Cornell? Did anyone also add a Why Cornell addendum? or do they not want that since they are asking about it in the application?
Also for the question that asks who influenced our decision to apply, do they only want people we know in person who are alumni, etc. or did anyone write about a faculty member they want to learn from?
