GULC doesn't admit through email though, someone else said. Only through post?

Yeah but they waitlist and ding via email correct?

That's exactly what I wanted to check. I had my first status update since my initial complete date in early January. Do most people get multiple complete updates?

So the common knowledge is that admit comes through post and WL/rejections are done over email?

Jay's trolling hard with the multiple updates question. I like it.

Btw is this the WUSTL thread??? Shinton, I thought you withdrew?

True that. Anyway big week, WUSTL, Vandy, and GULC will all be making it rain (hopefully). Some more than others I'm sure.

Good luck waiters!

Oh, no reason to feel bad. Usually 3 or 4 date updates and then a decision is made. People ask about it all the time, it's kind of a running joke.

And yes, seems like interview is by invitation only.

For the Yellow form: Anyone know if international students need to complete this? Given that we aren't eligble for FAFSA, need-based aid, or US commercial loans (without a us co-signor), there shouldn't really be a point to completing it. Plus, it requires you to enter a US state or administrated region from the drop-down box for your address....I don't live in any of the "states" :P

I e-mailed Dean Cornblatt with that question with the result that:
"international students are not eligible for financial aid. However, if you are seeking a private loan, you will need to fill out the Yellow Form to be approved by a private lender."

I don't think I'll be able to get a private loan from the US because I have no US co-signer but I filled out the first part just in case ... And yes, the thing about the state is really annoying!

I got another update today (2/28). Honestly have no idea how many this is.. I believe it is number 4, but I could be wrong since the status checker went through that weird phase where it was screwed up. Anyhow, I just want my decision either way, as I don't expect to receive money, and even if I do, I think it would end up being too expensive for me to attend.

Edit: I got to my computer to check the updates. Its only number 3 for me excluding that mishap on the 20th. 1/14, 2/20 (which was actually on the 25th...) and 2/28.

I hear you. Called the finaid office today to seek clarification - she said there prolly is no point to filling out the yellow form, but promised an email reply to me in the next day or so.

If i did complete the form, I'd have to use the drop-down to fill it out. I'm gonna have to pick something, and there is NO way I'm writing down that I'm from Alabama! lol (no offence to all you...Alabamans? Alabamians? Alabamerites?...out there!)
Maybe...Hawaii? They have surfing there....and nice beaches...and palm trees...and hot surfer girls....and nice weather....and....oh shit, guess I should go to U of Hawaii for law school! :P

Ps, all y'alls should join the Georgetown Class of 2016 thread! We're lonely!

Only acceptance comes through snail mail. Both wait list and rejection are through email. Usually three updates (excluding the complete) means decision, but if you have an alumni interview, three updates post interview is the charm. Not sure about group interview. Hope that helps.

Do you have a plural second-person pronoun in Canada?

I bet yous Canadians say "yous" instead of y'all.

Waitlisted just now. "Special group within Preferred Waiting List", to be precise, but I'm not sure if that actually means anything or if it's just a phrase to take off some of the sting? No Why Georgetown or interview, 3 complete updates, submitted 1/24, stats are in profile.

Have I completely missed the boat for financial aid by now anyway? If so, I might just withdraw...though my numbers are not really strong for it, if there's any chance of $$$ off the waitlist, I'll ride it without complaint.

just got the same email and i'm in the same boat. late applicant (received 1/14) with not great numbers (167/~3.7). if the only options off the priority waitlist are sticker or a ding i'm going to withdraw.

Waitlisted (not priority). My status went from complete at 1/20something to complete 2/28 and I got the decision around 6PM. Interesting. I am a URM with stats below their medians. Definitely a Hail Mary pass for me.

In. (3.83/164) Got the letter last night. Had interview (went well), status updated 5 times before letter sent. I noticed that on the 4th update they changed the formatting of my address.

Sorry. It's always a bummer, even if it was a reach.

You can say "all y'all" though, but DC is technically upper south, and "all y'all" is more of a deep south thing.

Participated in a group interview today, and it was surprisingly pleasant and enjoyable. I doubt anyone in the room did anything but benefit their chances. I'd advise anyone considering doing one to do it; it was an interesting experience.
