Anyway, yeah: just got in, and with a pretty solid scholarship (particularly given how late in the season it is). Quite excited. :)
How solid we talking? I thought they only gave out like 4 of those a year?
Not that solid! I don't want to list the amount in case it would be an identifying factor for any admissions people browsing, but it would cover a substantial chunk of tuition.
You're pretty easy to identify given what you've already said in all these threads. But that's cool. Make sure you update LSN when your cycle is over!

Is there an official way to withdraw or do you just email them?

Just email them with your name and LSAC number. Good luck

Does anyone know if we can defer admission if accepted? If so, do scholarships carry over?

I've got this GREAT idea to open up a law school to compete with GULC in the future when there's enough cash in the bank. It's gonna be called Georgecity and it'll be built in a competitor city. No clue how it's going to get a strong enough reputation in a short period of time. Maybe follow the UCI model. It's not going to be some TTTT used car salesman school! :P

(Im drunk right now so let me know if this was a good idea when I come back 2morrow)

If there are any incoming transfer students for the fall, join the Facebook group I created, at the very least we could do a happy hour before classes begin!

Okay Class of 2016 check this out:
North wrote:Want TLS's main bro Mike Spivey to be an honorable member of your school's Class of 2016? Here's how you can make that dream come true.
  • 1. Announce that your school is desirous of Spivey ITT. You must be a current member of the school's class of 2016 for the announcement to be valid.

    2. The first ten (10) valid announcements will be included in a poll at the top of this thread.

    3. The poll will run for exactly one week (seven (7) days) from the time of this post minus the time necessary for announcements and will thus close at 12:00 p.m. On Friday, June 21, 2013.

    4. The school with the most votes at the close of the voting period will have my man Mike Spivey added to the ranks of its Class of 2016 as an HONORABLE MEMBER.
Valid Announcements of Desirousness
  • 1. Columbia University (Tekrul)
    2. University of Virginia (North)
    3. Washington University in St. Louis (Cuse)
    4. Northwestern University (dstars823)
    5. Duke University (CaptainLeela)
    6. Cornell University (Lavitz)
    7. University of Southern California (anteater1)
    8. Georgetown University (Rory19)
    9. University of Utah (nickb285)
MikeSpivey wrote:North, I'm going to put this and then the ultimate school whose class I am an honorary member of on my blog. Cool. Then if possible I will try to visit that school and do a "how to get the job you want" talk at that school. (so I am hoping for Utah)
The voting should begin soon and last all next week--let's vote for Spivey to be a Hoya Lawya because we all know our TLS rep could use a boost.

Does anyone know how to open the Law Mail? I know how to make [netID]@georgetown.edu, but what I want is [netID]@law.georgetown.edu!

Got a Survey from GULC on why i didnt' attend. I spelled it out in no uncertain terms.
1. Give a Shit attitude
2. Scholarships and how they were handled
3. No money for most of us serfs. when other schools ranked higher gave me money.....
4. Sent more marketing lit. to me than anyone else trying to convince me to pay list at GULC and not go to anywhere else i was execpted.
5. when i called about Scholarships, they were Dismissive and didn't seem to care about me or my situation.
6. other schools took time to discuss my situation and tried to come up with something for me and help me make the best decision for me.

my stats are in my profile.

I just wanted the same offered amount I got at Cornell. if I would have got that i would be attending.

Just pissed about the whole process at GULC!!!!

LittleTree wrote:I just got an email designating me as a scholarship alternate. It noted the normal stuff about an exceptionally strong applicant pool and then said that they made a few offers but I didn't make the cut.
The email asked if I wanted to stay under consideration and that I might get a scholarship by April 5th because the scholarships they just offered expire on April 1st.
This process with Georgetown is extremely frustrating. They keep pushing out the deadline while trying to keep some of us hanging on because they say there's still some small chance that we might receive aid.
I'm going to stay on until the next round. If I don't get a scholarship I'll probably bounce. I can't afford Georgetown at full price and I'm in at schools with similar prospects with large scholarships and objectively better schools with small but existent scholarships.

My numbers/info because this usually helps people - 167/3.9+ urm, accepted in December about a week after they read my application.
Hey! You're my twinsie in stats. :D I got a similar email. They said I was designated as an alternate but told me that I would receive a final offer by April 22. This was disheartening.
