That is so nice to hear, especially when I'm only below one median. Also, fantastic choice of a simile.

EDIT: Just looked at your numbers...I'm pretty sure you weren't below either of last year's medians.

According to everything I've seen on here, GULC's medians last year were 169/3.67, a noticeable drop from the previous year, but still above both of mine.

haha, he does that for everyone, but the content of the note is tailored. That's pretty special

Eek! Sorry, I just realized I was basing your numbers on something you quoted! My bad.

What exactly are the magical 3 'updates'? My app has been complete since 10/26 and I'm pretty sure nothing has changed the whole time...

The status date will change even though the status doesn't. Three times seems to be the magical number after which something happens.

Though, for the last batch of people who were held, I think that rule didn't apply. I know one person who just had one update on the same day that the holds were sent out.

My friend was held and he did have 3 updates. And I think consensus is if you had 3 updated, you should expect something acceptance, held or rejection very soon. But not the other way around.

Does Gtown take exceptionally long to get a complete / status checker?

I haven't received my acceptance yet but having followed this board closely Acceptances are only snail mailed. A few weeks later your status changes/receive an e-mail so if your international this might come before the snail mail. If you are state side you will receive the letter first.

Feel free to correct me for all of those that have been accepted.

Sounds about right. The status doesn't change until you commit, though.

Have anyone went complete and received acceptance mail without the interview?

What is the general consensus on how long it takes to go from the first update to the second? It seems fairly uniform that once you receive the second update, the third one comes a couple of days later at the most.

Stuck on first update, though. Wondering when to expect my next move.

EDIT: I'm an Early Decision applicant.

To the two questions above:
1.I was accepted without an interview as were many others.
2.It took them about 3 weeks altogether to accept me RD (from the 4th to the 26th of this month I believe).

When you have questions like this just read the thread and check LSN, everything is all there for you.

BigZuck, moderator of thread decorum.

Edit: meant in the best way of course.

Edit 2: Anybody want to start a pool on when the ASW will be up? Late November has come and gone...

Not trying to be a jerk, just that sometimes these questions don't get answered and the thread itself and LSN are such great resources that they will usually tell you much more than one or two posters who bother to respond.

No harm intended. My response to some people's posts tends to be: are you fucking kidding me? And I'm impressed you handle everyone so well.

Non-URMs getting in under both medians? Shit, I might have missed out. Think I had/have a chance with 3.1 169 and 2 years WE? Or does the GPA make an app not even worth it.

I think that 169 will be pretty highly coveted by GULC this year, so might as well give it a shot.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
