There was no escalation either. It was a few posts like "well this sucks" followed by that.

I was accepted into GCLU back in January under the Early Decision agreement. While GCLU is still my top choice, I have recieved some very tempteing offers from other great lawschools. I am not saying I will do it, but does anyone know what would happen if I did NOT attend GCLU and was accepted under the ED process?
Learn from the mistakes of those who came before you. Take your ED acceptance and don't screw it up.
PS - Your future alma mater is GULC, not GCLU.

You see most of you are going to end up 150-200k in debt, and at 7 per cent interest, your looking at 12-14k of your money going to interest alone. Even at the elite schools, half of you wont even make it to one of the top 250 firms. Most of you that do make it big firm will flame out because of the hours and because of the partners thats treat you like shit. And then you will be left with the debt. So I am actually grateful Columbia and the rest of the top schools told me to fuck off, because now I can focus my life on things that won't take 3 years of my life and 60k a year of my money. And at the end of the day, I'm going to be just as ahead as the asshole Harvard law grad because unlike most people I have great connections, people skills, and I am not naive with my money. Law school is a total waste of time unless you 1) have the money to pay the tuiton or scholarships, 2) Go to a great school, and 3) know that you are already going to love practicing law, have some experience in it already, and can stand doing 80 hrs a week of document review and all the other bs discovery work the firm demands for the first five years of your employment. The only way you get ahead is if you suck all the partners cocks (there are few vagina partners even though this is the 21st century), never screw up, and are just outright lucky. So peace out law, im moving on.

Not surprised, but still, pretty damn disappointed at the same time.

Complete 1/16, Updated 2/4, updated again 2/5. Any ideas what this means? I've seen most folks get 2-3 updates before a decision, but any one day apart?

Had an interview 1/29, updates on 1/31 and today (2/5). I'm hoping a decision is forthcoming.

3rd update after interview. Does anyone know if they send out rejection/WL emails the day it changes or later?? Or should I just hope that means something is in the mail...

I wonder how long it'll be before they get to the people they held. 23 days until they said they'd for sure give us a decision...

I think last year the held group mostly ended in a bloody mess at the end of February. Almost entirely WL/Ding. I think the thread is still floating around somewhere if you want to check.elblufer wrote:I wonder how long it'll be before they get to the people they held. 23 days until they said they'd for sure give us a decision...

For those who got the email about applying for merit scholarships, I just got a reply to my response. It said that the scholarship committee would be back in touch no later than Feb 15th.

Today, someone that wrote one of my LOR's told me that got a very nice letter from the admissions office @ GULC thanking him for his sharing thoughts about me with the committee. I thought that was kind of neat. I wonder if they send the same e-mail to all LOR writers. Regardless, seems like a nice personal touch.

I asked that in this thread when one of my letter-writers told me they got this email. The response was that every LOR writer gets this, but I'm not sure that's true since neither of my other two LOR-writers mentioned it and I am pretty confident they would have.zbenson wrote:Today, someone that wrote one of my LOR's told me that got a very nice letter from the admissions office @ GULC thanking him for his sharing thoughts about me with the committee.
