Has anybody found out anything about GULC's scholarship process? I saw some people reported receiving e-mails regarding schollys last week; do we think that is going to be the last mention of them? I know GULC is retardedly stingy but I'm still holding out hoping for something at least, though there's no way I'd be able to get a decision back to them as quickly as they seem to expect even with a full-ride offer.

Had alumni interview today. The interviewer was extremely nice and easy-going. Felt intimidated at first since it was at a big firm amd im interested in goverment policy work but she was absolutely awesome! Hoping admissions does me well. Odds are against those interviewing though.

Thoughts about the peer school thing, is GW a peer to GULC? I got 90k from GW. When they come out with schollies , will they be competitive?

I believe a few pages ago someone said no. I also agree, GW isn't a peer. Good school, but not a peer to GULC.uconjak wrote:Thoughts about the peer school thing, is GW a peer to GULC? I got 90k from GW. When they come out with schollies , will they be competitive?

Hey, 1L at GULC here just lurking cause I finished my reading for tomorrow "early." Just so you know, I actually got offered MORE from GULC than GW when I got in last year, so it surely depends on "how badly they specifically want YOU" as opposed to anyone else. (URM male, here). FYI, no mention to GULC how much I was given by anyone else, they actually emailed me an offer two days after GW did. Guess they were just a bit desperate? Nonetheless, just thought I'd share that to let you know that if history is any indication, the only real way to find out which will give you more is to wait it out.elblufer wrote:I believe a few pages ago someone said no. "This information was distributed directly from Georgetown:
Admissions Decisions for Interviewed Applicants for 2008:
39% put on Preferred Waitlist
37% Admitted
7% Denied
17% General Waitlist"
Obviously, the data is outdated but if it still holds true, 37% is still pretty slim for me.

I am sure that 37% rate of admission is higher than their acceptance rate which means that applicants who are interviewed are accepted at a higher rate than the general applicant pool.Jonathk1 wrote:Was referring to this:LRGhost wrote:Really? People who are interviewed are accepted at a rate about twice as high as the rest of the applicant pool

I am worried I am not in a good outcome position since my interview was 1/24, and I got an update 1/25 but radio silence (no updates) since... :/ It is almost the 2 week mark and nothing? I mean, this is not a good sign considering all interviews seem to get a response and 3 updates within 2 weeks right?

Alumni interview 1/21. Update 1/22. No movement either. I thought the interview went quite well too. I'm convinced I have broken the status checker.superhopefulwoo wrote:I am worried I am not in a good outcome position since my interview was 1/24, and I got an update 1/25 but radio silence (no updates) since... :/ It is almost the 2 week mark and nothing? Got the tiny envelope today. If they can swing a few scholarship dollars my way, there is a very good chance I will be attending in the fall.

Re: Georgetown c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I need some advice. I had an interview with an alum on 01/10. They received the evaluation from the alum on 01/24 (I called to confirm and they said my file was under review again). However, my status has been marked as Complete since 12/11. There has been no movement since then. It seems like everyone who has had interview almost immediately had status date changes. Should I call the admissions and see what's going on?

It sounds like you already called and they already answered. Some applications just take longer than others, as frustrating as that is. They have only had all of your materials for two weeks and I gather that you have spoken with them more recently than that.arrowhead2012 wrote:I need some advice. I would sit back and give it some time.

Anyone know what "Status: Application Completed" means?
I got that status update on a date that approximately coincides with when I was told during a group interview I would be receiving a decision, but no email or snail mail yet.
