GPa 75th and LSAT around median
I think I went complete about a week before that. Don't worry about it. If there's one thing I've learned over the last month and a half, it's that law schools have no rhyme or reason. They just make believe there are trends so that we'll have something to occupy our time.

Don't write yourself off just yet
Yeah I've been complete for literally months, with no movement. People with similar numbers (and lower numbers) have all gotten in. Yay for all the admits, but it honestly doesn't make much sense sometimes. Oh well. All we can do is wait and trust that someone hasn't accidentally deleted our apps.

Eh, don't withdraw just yet. It's tempting, but just ride it out. If you're competitive, you'll get in eventually.

From reading this thread, it seems like it can take a while to see the scholarship offers on the ASW. They seem to have posted a batch of them about a week ago...maybe they'll post another batch tomorrow or something. Give it some time; you could still get some scholarships (at least that's what I'm hoping--I got in yesterday too with almost the same numbers!)

Does Michigan update applications on weekends too? Just realized that my latest update was on Dec 15 Saturday. Looks like they are really working hard.

You should check out the Harvard thread. We post desperate/depressing poetry whenever the process gets us down (read: very frequently). It's a great outlet for those of us with little or no chance of admission.

ETA with your numbers, I would not worry about Michigan. I doubt you'll be waitlisted. Think of this process like a tease. The school is just toying you but you'll get it eventually. It just likes watching you squirm in the meantime
Thank you for the kind words, but I'm confused as to why you are so confident. Michigan's standards having been dipping recently, but 2 years ago it seems a WL wouldn't have even been a sure thing. Last year only a handful of people got in with similar numbers (per LSN, of cours), when Michigan's medians were largely the same, besides the LSAT25.

Do you really think I have a good shot or were you just trying to make sure the first comment you made didn't crush me? :) I'm prepared for a WL and to wait on it as long as needed.

I actually received my admitted status on 12/15, so yep! Another reason to obsessively check on the weekends :) haha

Seems like the real updates only happen Tuesday - Saturday, presumably, the previous days update shows up in the morning.

Mine still says incomplete after about 3 weeks. I really do think they only have 1 person in their office. I wish they would just open my packet so they could ding me and I could move on w/ my life.
When I was in 2nd grade, I decided I was going to go to hogwarts. They just need to kill my dream already.

i was just rolled from ED to regular decision. numbers are below the medians but alumni, WE and many other strong softs. Is there any benefit to writing an LOCI and an update say once a month, or is that simply annoying?

Annoying. One (maybe two if you're WL'ed later on) and done.

I was rolled to RD and was going to send them one LOCI and maybe an updated resume reflecting my new job before the application deadline.

You know, I wouldn't be surprised if some schools hold some applicants with high numbers for later to see if they'll withdraw when they hear back from other schools. I'm above both 75th percentiles at Michigan and Duke, I submitted Duke on 8/25 and Michigan on 9/1 and haven't heard back from either. I have a friend who's in the same boat and he withdrew both apps last week.

Which, from Michigan and Duke's perspectives, makes a lot of sense. The schools are guilty of playing the game to some extent, but can you blame them when students are just as Machiavellian?

It's called yield protection, and yes, they do

Does anyone on this thread know whether 1 3/4 pages (11 point, double-spaced) is too long for a supplemental Essay to Michigan?

I know they say about a page but I've tried everything to cut it down and I just think everything left is worthwhile.

(It's the unique perspective/life experience one)

Try reducing the spacing to 1.5 instead of double-spaced, but I really wouldn't exceed any limit they set. Everything that's left might be worthwhile, but even so, I'd recommend trying to trim it down. Feel free to PM me if you want a second set of (confidential) eyes on it.
