I randomly decided to look at my status checker and it looks like I'm IN! :) Happy day!

Congrats! I've seen you around a few of the other T14s, what's your top choice at the moment?

Thanks! I'm honestly not sure yet. NYU is looking great but I also wouldn't mind attending Michigan. Given my numbers, though, I'm not expecting any type of scholly from Michigan, so that would probably sway my decision more toward NYU.

Michigan has been very generous this cycle, I predict you getting great scholarship, good luck and congrats on all the acceptances!

Hey guys, my status changed from "waitlist offer extended" to "waitlisted". Super stoked.

Got my yellow folder and usb today :) Hopefully applying later in the cycle will not temper their generosity.

I legitimately got angry that they didn't send me a usb and then I remembered that I was waitlisted.

so if we've already received a merit scholarship we can't fill out the form on the ASW?

You can definitely fill it out -- whether they'll actually give you need-based aid in addition to the merit scholarship you've already received is another question. Certainly can't hurt to at least give it a go, though.

Definitely -- that is some straight YP. They might just be waiting on answers from some people with merit offers already extended.

read back through the thread, but before someone yells at you, it updates everyday (except some days their system glitches and it takes a day). It's normal. If you actually look at the bottom of the log-in page it says when it was last updated.

Offered any scholarship money? It said I wasn't eligible either though I am paying for school solely through scholly and loans, sounds like the definition of eligible to me, but I did get 54k Dean's scholly so maybe that's why.
Other thing is, some people are thinking their decision is mostly (possibly only) based on if you got aid for UG or still have UG debt, and since my parents paid for my UG I fit neither of these.

Did your scholarship letter explicitly say that you wouldn't be eligible for need-based? Because I know mine said something like "because this scholarship covers a substantial amount of tuition, you will not be eligible for any need-based aid."

Yep I looked back and it says that. So I guess my merit is all I get. Which admittedly is still very generous.

Maybe the office is using the zip codes from the questionnaire to guess your economic background and thats why so many people are getting rejected for need based aid? My zip code demographic info says the average house is worth 2million ... I cant understand their cut off

Guessing from the chart during the first week of April and the first week of May. They have probably admitted by now three times the amount of seats available so people admitted from the WL is fairly small. If you are truly interested keep sending LOCI.

I write to you from Amtrak, somewhere on the Eastern seaboard (according to my phone, just south of Cheltenham, PA, 147 miles or so from our DC destination). I see grey skies, and some damp pavement. I see no snow. I understand that the federal government is closed, and that various prognosticators are maintaining the six-to-twelve-inches-will-fall storyline, but call me a pie-eyed optimist: we’re coming on ahead anyway, and are hoping to see you tonight at the Ritz. According to the National Weather Service, anyone who ventures out should bring an “extra flashlight”—which, I presume, means you should have at least two flashlights—but we will provide the food and water (well—we’ll do better than water) that they also suggest you equip yourself with.

Loving the drama! See you soon.
