Congrats! :)

Mine says $30,000, so that's per year, right? So cool to have a scholly offer in hand. Admitted 11/14 if anyone's wondering.

I got a call from my dad today saying a big packet from Michigan just came for me (I send mail there because I do not trust the mailing service at my school.)
Naturally I get super nervous and excited because Ann Arbor is one of my top choices but is a huge reach school for me.
So he opens it up to an acceptance letter!!!... from Michigan State (A safety school I applied to).

I know a few people have asked already, but is the amount listed under the Financial Aid Award Information page per year or total?

People are saying per year, but mine doesn't say that. Just says the amount. Hopefully the letter will clarify.

In past years it has been per year.

Does everyone's also list them as having been sent a letter? Mine only says the scholarship under financial aid, but not that they've sent a letter about it.
I'm sure it is per year (22,500 for 3 years would be silly), just saying it hasn't been made explicit.

Mine says the award letter was mailed 11/30

EDIT: thanks, kingfield. Show me the money! i be on that paper chase

22.5 x 3 = 67.5, which is the highest scholarship Michigan has been giving out (except for half/full scholarships). The lowest scholarship they give out, AFAIK, is 10k per year, which means the lowest one I've seen out of them is a total 30k.

Congrats on your 22.5k/year.

I'm sure you're right. I just had to ask because I know they give out 10K/year scholarships and my page doesn't actually say "13-14" under "Award Year"--it just says "2014". :? I'm guessing that's the same thing though.

It also doesn't say whether a letter was sent already.

It doesn't? That makes me a bit happy, given your numbers... I am hoping... a bit ridiculously, especially given my own numbers, I know... that that might indicate a Darrow invitation.

Last year, people who did not initially receive notifications of any scholarship received an invitation to apply for the Darrow scholarship about ten days later. They didn't seem to have any scholarships listed on the website at all, though...

Oh well, doesn't hurt to fantasize.
:o

Yeah, I was wondering about the Darrow. I wasn't sure if it would say "Invited for Darrow scholarship" or something on the site. I just figured it would be included in the regular scholarship letter, such as "You've already been awarded a Dean's Scholarship worth $XX,XXX. But wait, there's more! We're also inviting you to apply for an even better scholarship."

But I guess if last year they didn't list regular offers on the site for people being invited, then we really shouldn't jump the gun on this. Besides, I'm quite satisfied with $90K :)

It would be awesome if you were right, though

My mail and money just says "Zero Awards Found" :(

I was accepted via status checker on 11/21 though so maybe they just haven't decided yet?

lol, this. There are still plenty of admits with numbers equal to or better than mine not reporting $$$. They're probably the Darrow people.

Don't Darrow invites come out much later? Plus I think my numbers (errr, lsat) are on the low end for that IIRC. Also, you guys got me all excited to check the website and the "Zero Awards Found" was a little anti-climactic haha

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
