just happened to look at my status checker and saw that I was admitted a couple days ago! I didn't think i'd be accepted without at least being waitlisted first.

169 / 3.7 - 3.85 (too paranoid to post definite #s)

JK it's me Ian Malcolm.

Also...Congrats! I'm diggin' the nonchalance. You obviously don't have finals that you are trying to procrastinate.
Or worse, you do have finals and you're actually you know, studying for them.

Either way, deserving of respect all around!

hahah thanks :) I do have finals but I've given up on stalking my status checkers since I figure most schools don't release decisions until at least Jan/Feb and many others don't even post decisions online. I'd much rather procrastinate with mindless TV shows.

I read somewhere on TLS that ad coms actually check to see when applicants login to their status checkers. Not sure how accurate that is but just for good measure I don't want to seem neurotic checking them multiple times a day haha. But I'm sure come January that's what will happen.

Well then Michigan is probably going to send me to a psych-ward because I check 5-67 times daily.

I've been noticing that people with virtually the same stats as mine if not a tad lower (non urms) who went complete on the same day if not later than I did have gotten accepted already. Should this be a cause for concern? Not sure what to really make of it.

Still early in the season friends. Although I must admit that more and more doubt creeps in whenever I log on to my status checker and nothing has changed. If we don't hear back before the new year then I agree, we aren't getting in.

I'm really getting concerned since i'm early decision. Have they rejected any ED's yet?

I haven't heard of any ED movement, which means that the next couple of weeks will be a MAJOR flurry of activity on that front.

While we RD folks just sit here, patiently.

well if people with virtually identical stats who went complete on the same day as you are hearing back before you are, it seems like that can mean only two things:

1. they are going to WL/deny you, but haven't gotten around to notifying you yet
2. they need more time to look over your application

neither of which seems good...

Higher ed jobs are notoriously cushy....they are almost certainly salaried with good benefits.

I tried to reply to an earlier post - I got in ED with below 25 numbers on both GPA and LSAT. I wouldn't worry about it too much, I'm sure they're just swamped!

A friend of mine works in admissions for undergrad, and in his office, the staff of readers splits up applicants by geographic region. It's entirely possible Michigan splits theirs up by some similar factor and whoever has yours is just going at a different pace right now. There isn't a perfect order to how everyone gets reviewed and I think it will all even out in the end. And if you've got competitive numbers, why would they turn those away this cycle?? We're all getting stressed and starting to freak out now that the cycle's in full swing, but realize we're still really early. Keep your heads up!

My app just went complete. Submitted 11/16. I've lived in Michigan for 20 years and submitted (what I believe to be) a compelling app. Crossing my fingers, U of M is an amazing place! Best of luck to those still waiting, and congrats to those who have been accepted :)

Never! Yesterday I came home from work at 3 because I might have the flu - I watched Mean Girls, Clueless, and Heathers. Today I've been alternating between Gossip Girl and American Horror Story. What's in your queue?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
