Wanted to bump this thread to talk to my fellow UVA hopefuls. This thread seems to haverss posts than others. If your reading this and want to update with your numbers/when you applied/ decision feel free!

Michaelm55, that's tough man. But with that GPA if this is your top choice, don't give up. Ride the WL and try to work your way off of it.

Seriously! I applied ED because even though my numbers (and in-state status) would probably net me an eventual admit, I couldn't stand the thought on not going to my dream school!

How did it turn out? Mind posting or PMing your numbers?

It seems like that's been the trend going back at least 4 cycles. It's pretty scary

Referring to the fact that you're a shoo-in, I'd imagine. High LSAT, yet with a GPA that could still be a toss-up for at least some of the T6. UVA's wet dream, in other words.

Eh, looking at LSN my score range is almost always WL'd. Penn and UVA YP like a bunch of whiny bitches. But yeah, in-state I'm hoping mitigates that.

haha yeah, I think I'm on the fast track to the WL. Everyone I see with my numbers range is either: (1) normal and WL'd or (2) has amazing softs and accepted with $$$$ to UVA and other T14

Anyone have any idea about how long it will be for a decision after residency status is determined? Mine just changed an hour ago and was complete since 11/5 or 6.. don't remember lol!

Unfortunately I believe they say 15 days after status complete and residency complete. I may very well be wrong, but I believe you are looking at a decision sometime within the next 15 days.

Yeah, that is what it says.. I'm hoping maybe they will speed it up since I was approved by their office as in-state before I even sent my app!

shibby wrote:Thanks! I spoke to Cordell Faulk. It was funny, I actually saw an email from him in my inbox and was thinking "shit," because I thought e-mail = rejection. But the email just said to call him (this could be because I am currently abroad so he maybe didn't know how to properly reach me). So I called and we chatted for maybe 3 minutes total, all very very casual and you don't need to know anything about UVA. He just asked if I'd like to spend the next 3 years in Charlottesville, I got super duper excited and said yes!!! and then he just spoke for maybe a minute on the next steps (mailing the acceptance package, sending deposit, etc). That was it. Quick and painless. Good luck!

Oooh nice! I think it's really a nice touch that he requested you call him back instead of just telling you via email. I am currently on vacations abroad too, I want the same thing!

hmmm. really? You sent in your app and it went complete, and you were provided with an answer all within 48 hrs? Is that indeed what you meant to say? Or two days after it went complete? Either way, very fast turn around.

Also wondering if you're ED or RD?

I just checked to see if anyone on LSN updated for UVA, and it looks like one person just got in via RD(?). http://lawschoolnumbers.com/pepster

Dsn32 is RD according to LSN.

It has begun.
