I've been on the waitlist since Jan. 3. Should I write a LOCI now or wait until the admissions period is over (sometime in April)? Thanks in advance for your advice.

Most people have told me, "the sooner the better" when it comes to LOCIs. Good luck!

I also was waitlisted in early January (I don't remember the date) and I sent a letter around 1/10, I think, but mostly because I actually love UVA. There are other schools that have waitlisted me already and I have yet to write LOCIs for them...guess it depends on how strongly you feel about the school!

Waitlisted. My Dad said congratulations on the waitlist, as UVA is one of the best in the country, and it doesn't mean I'm out for the count. He has a point. I commiserate with all the other WL's, but seriously, also be proud of all your accomplishments. It means they liked us enough to NOT be rejected, which is something at least.

There might be the WL thread from last year. You can see the movement there. Also LSN from last cycle sorted by WL/Accept or whatever. I don't think UVA pulls much from the WL though :/

gah, lucky. I think I got a generic response from Holly Bennett saying thanks for your continued interest and patience blah blah blah I submitted a LOCI 3 weeks ago; clearly it has not done much to make them budge....
