 Did she actually say that or allude to it? It's just... unusually direct for an admissions office that is trying to woo candidates.

She straight up said it. We had a long talk about construction law and how there is a huge need (my major and work history is in construction management). So should I retake? I'm not sure I have ANY time to study and I'm not completely convinced I can do better.

What's your current score?

I'm just lucky to have gotten in

Are you going to do the retake or will you just go at sticker?

I know you are right. I just have a hard time with the idea of taking that awful test again. I'm also balancing a family, a wife in nursing school and 14 credits. It just sounds like a nightmare to add LSAT study/stress on top of that.

The balancing act will also be good practice for law school

If LSAT studying is a nightmare then what are you going to do when you become an adult and have a job that requires work and stuff?

If someone offered me 15K+ if I did better on some dumb test I would totally take it.

Except with a 3.95 GPA and URM status, a 165+ LSAT would be worth way more than 15k.

Of course. I was just assuming a worse case scenario of minimal improvement and figured 5K a year might be their smallest scholly. But there is literally everything to gain and nothing to lose. Especially if you have a family. Why potentially saddle them with tons and tons of debt if you don't have to?

Agreed...this is a no brainer. You're a fool not to take advantage of the opportunity.

I know how to work. I was a project manager building multi-million dollar high-rises for 10 years.

Also, I am retaking

Package came today and I am super insanely pumped. One thing that struck me was how early the first deposit is (4/4??). I imagine I will still be waiting on money from quite a few places at that point. Anybody know UVAs requirements regarding double depositing either the first or second deposit?

ETA: After May 17, the Law School reserves the right to cancel the matriculation of any admitted student who is reserving seats in both our entering class and the entering class of another law school. We discourage such “double-depositing” prior to May 17, but prohibit it after that date, barring exceptional circumstances.

so looks like its ok for the first deposit but not the second.

Came out of class to find....! A waitlist email -_-. If they're serious about us not hearing back until late April I'm not sure how I feel about this...

For those who are hearing WL/dings today, when did you submit your apps? I'm almost certainly a ding, and keep checking my inbox for it, but maybe I wont see it until the next round? I went complete around 11/22 I believe.

Applied/complete second week of November. But with my GPA, the waitlist/soft reject was the best I could hope for. Nothing to do but keep on playing the game, I guess.
