So far WL at Duke and UVA. Surely isn't a large vote of confidence in my PS and LoRs. I think I'm in for a long cycle.LRGhost wrote:Wow, I'm surprised.StillIll wrote:Waitlisted. Got the email this morning. 3.36 / 176... I can't catch a break

I have about the same LSAT and lower GPA, but I've gotten the silent treatment from both since late November. I don't even know what to think anymore.

It's a cold, dark and lonely world we live in. I'm glad to at least know I'm not alone. Out of curiosity, what are your contingencies? Due to the so-far lukewarm response I'm probably going to squeak some apps in before the deadline to some lower t-30/25 schools. Getting money is pretty important in my situation.pedestrian wrote:Sorry to hear that, fellow splitter.StillIll wrote:So far WL at Duke and UVA. Yea I heard since that even tho its relatively easier for splitters to get in ED, its hard for people to get into UVA with below median GPAs regular decision. Don't know if thats true but makes sense.

Someone should figure out what % of the class is admitted ED vs RDmarshal26 wrote:StillIll wrote:Those are pretty good numbers. Makes me feel better about my WL.marshal26 wrote:waitlisted this morning got an email (173, 3.66)

Re: UVA c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
That makes sense. If things really don't go well I honestly may strive to get straight As this semester (will bump me up to 3.44) and give it another go this next cycle. ED VA may then be a good idea.marshal26 wrote:StillIll wrote:Those are pretty good numbers. Makes me feel better about my WL.marshal26 wrote:waitlisted this morning got an email (173, 3.66)

Yea same here, I'm gonna see how this cycle plays out but I'm in no rush I can wait a year if my cycle doesn't go well.StillIll wrote:That makes sense. Are you pretty?djlmjs22 wrote:I'm at UVA right now to go to a class and tour. Does anyone recommend stopping by the admissions office or anything?

And yeah, I'd drop by and say hi. It'll show interest if nothing else. Try to have a question or something you want to (briefly) talk about, though. Don't just drop in randomly with no plan.

I am pretty sure that before you tour someone from the admissions office will come out to speak to you. You also sign in there.
Unless you are touring yourself and not through them

This seems to be true. UVA compensates for its forgiving ED program by being super selective RD. Still waitlist hope for splitters, though, I should think.marshal26 wrote: Yea I heard since that even tho its relatively easier for splitters to get in ED, its hard for people to get into UVA with below median GPAs regular decision. I got in RD as a splitter this cycle, with lower numbers for both GPA and LSAT. Did you write a Why UVA?marshal26 wrote:StillIll wrote:Those are pretty good numbers. Makes me feel better about my WL.marshal26 wrote:waitlisted this morning got an email (173, 3.66)

I've been on the waitlist since Jan. 3. Should I write a LOCI now or wait until the admissions period is over (sometime in April)? Thanks in advance for your advice.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
