Same boat.

I didn't write a Why UVA, so I've been expecting a WL any day now, but nope.

Makes no sense, you're right in their wheelhouse. I'm starting to feel like all the adcoms are afraid to admit anyone.
+1
This is one weird ride that will last well past April/May

Looks likes schools are grasping for 170s.

But then you'd think they'd need high GPA's to balance.

Shrugs.

But t12 schools are letting in almost zero splitters who didn't ED though... I feel like the end of this cycle is going to be insane.

It has to right? Because otherwise this cycle has not correlated with the decrease in 170's like most predicted.

Hmm. As splitter (170/3.6x) who has only heard back from one t-12 in the form of an acceptance, that goes against my experience.

Although my sample size for this statement is essentially negligible.

I'm actually struggling to keep up with/understand how this cycle is going so far as a whole.

Don't think you guys are wrong BUT I don't UVA gets enough credit for being holistic. Maybe not with the dings but definitely with the WL. http://uva.lawschoolnumbers.com/stats/1112/ That graph is every bit as holistic as Stanford.

wut. Almost everything on the graph is predictable - extreme splitters/reverse splitters are ED, everyone with a 17X, 3.7+ gets in, with YP beginning at LSAT 75th. Not holistic, just a different strategy than other T14s.

What? How do you explain the LINES of yellow at 169 and 170? From the GPA 25th through to the 75th? Those should be the wheelhouse. Not being snide, explain it to me.

3.6x isn't a HUGE split though.

+1. UVA is holistic compared to most t14s.

So do we think UVA is putting more people on the WL this year than in years past with the anticipation of letting more off later? If so, is there much precedent for giving scholarships to those coming off the WL? This is relevant to my interests.

Will it give me a boost if I change my RD to ED now? I completed on 1/7, UR now.

Congrats! They must've loved your GPA or softs. When did you submit?

Nice to see some good news after the last few pages of WL/ding.

Just talked to the dean of admissions and was accepted with a full tuition scholarship. I applied early November with no Why UVA. 174/4.1. Hopefully some good news for others this week!
