I plan to just call and breathe slowly into the phone, saying nothing at all. That will freak them out even more.

I feel like that's the current telemarketing tactic.

I'm just kind of worried because I haven't had ANY response to my question re: scholly negotiation. Did other people get some sort of confirmation e-mail or anything?

I called last Monday (4/9) before that mass e-mail from Dean Richards went out, and was told to follow-up on Thursday. I sent an e-mail on Thursday with some offer letters attached, and got a reply a few hours later that the letters would be added to my file.

Who, specifically, did you guys e-mail?

Directly to Dean Richard's email, not a general admissions email. Maybe that accounts for the difference?

Try Director Faulk; he's always given me prompt replies.

I got a call saying to check back after April 30 as there was no more $$$ (for me). I had called Dean Richard today.

I sent mine to the general admissions e-mail, but addressed it to Dean Richard (since she is who I have had all contact with).

And today I finally heard something!

...

I got my stipend check.

Come on, that's a little much. They didn't say "By Tuesday". Early in the week is nebulous enough to allow for Wednesday. Really, as long as it's this week I don't think it's a big deal.

Yea. When they sent the "early next week" email, I told myself to assume Wednesday-Friday. But I can't help but be disappointed each day all the same. I was admitted back in early Feb., right when they basically quit giving $ with acceptances. ASW, amongst other things, sealed my love of the school and area. But the COA has to be competitive.

Not to mention that several deposit deadlines have passed and lots more are creeping up. Freaks me out.

Is there any reason why fin aid discussion can't go in the TLS 2016 UVA Thread: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 3&t=193198? I know that money is a factor for a lot of people, but for those who are just waiting to get accepted, the current discussion may seem kind of frivolous. Have some compassion.

I have no problem with people discussing finaid in either thread. The c/o 2016 thread is for people who are attending for sure. People who haven't committed but are trying to negotiate may only be in this thread. It helps everyone who is trying to get money if we discuss it openly in both threads. From what we have seen though, the people actually GETTING freed up money are NEW admits. FWIW.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
