2005 was literally a different world in the law world. If it makes you feel any better a lot of those people were probably laid off post crash.

I work with an attorney who got a free ride to Yale (not need, legitimate merit) long before there were even USNWR rankings (although Yale was still considered just as prestigious) with stats that are around their 25th percentiles now.

So I e-mailed them regarding the scholarship process, and basically, they said no award for me and they've allocated all the funds. They aren't going to break up with us unless we ask them to haha!

So I withdrew. Good luck to all of you and your decision.

My e-mail read this way. You can take from it what you will:

"We were able to make a few new scholarship awards this week. Unfortunately, at this time, we do not have an award for you. I do not anticipate that we will be in a position to make additional awards before the April 30 seat deposit deadline. I think you will have to make your decision based upon the information you currently have."

So much for anonymity haha, but with deposit deadlines so close, I do think people should have the full range of info possible (and I'm out of play at UVA now, so why would I care).
